2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT: Up to 1,000-Plus HP for $231,995

Having just announced comprehensive upgrades to its Taycan for 2025, Porsche is already expanding the lineup with a pair of ultra-powerful electric sedans — one of which has already set lap records at two world-famous racetracks. Positioned above the Taycan Turbo S, the Taycan Turbo GT and Turbo GT with Weissach Package raise the output of the Porsche EV into the comma club, with up to an astounding 1,092 horsepower.

(More) Power to the Powerful
Revisions to the drivetrain electronics (a more powerful pulse inverter with a silicon-carbide semiconductor on the rear axle, for the electromechanically inclined) are responsible for the increased power of the Taycan Turbo GTs. Nominally rated at 777 horsepower and 988 pounds-feet of torque, the Turbo GTs can generate 1,019 hp for short periods and up to 1,092 hp for two seconds with launch control engaged. This allows the all-wheel-drive sedan to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.2 seconds (2.1 seconds with the lightweight Weissach Package). In about 6.5 seconds, the time it takes for a reasonably quick car to hit 60, the Turbo GT will be whisking along at 124 mph.
Once underway, the Taycan Turbo GT pilot has another afterburner on call. Pulling the right steering-column paddle engages Attack Mode, which boosts output from 777 hp to 937 hp for up to 10 seconds at a time. In lesser Taycans, this function is called Push to Pass and is activated by a switch adjacent to the steering wheel. But taking a hand off the steering wheel on track is generally a dicey proposition, so the Turbo GT’s paddle activation seems like the more important development than the increased boost from the Turbo S.

There’s more than just power separating the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT from the Turbo S. Porsche Active Ride air suspension with adaptive dampers is standard and features a unique tune. High-performance summer tires on 21-inch wheels and composite ceramic brakes are also included. To manage the air it can cut through at up to 180 mph (190 mph with the Weissach Package), the Turbo GT also wears a unique front splitter with vertical aeroblades on the ends and a prominent adaptive spoiler on the rear.
Porsche isn’t specifying how much the Weissach Package chops from the Turbo GT, but says it lops 157 pounds off the curb weight of the Turbo S. The package includes carbon-fiber trim for the B-pillars and side mirrors, a lightweight cargo compartment and a fixed rear wing, and it deletes the Sport Chrono Package’s analog clock, driver-side charge port, power-operating mechanisms for the trunk and passenger-side charge port, and the floor and trunk mats. All of these likely have less to do with the weight loss than the removal of the rear seats, which makes the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package the rare four-door production car with just two seats.

Availability and Pricing
The 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is available to order now, with deliveries set to begin in the summer. Perhaps because of its trade-off in functionality, the Weissach Package — which Porsche has until now only offered on two-door cars at a steep premium — is available as a no-cost package. With or without the additional lightweighting, the Taycan Turbo GT starts at $231,995 (including $1,995 destination charge).
