Electrifying News!

After Ford made a $500 million investment in Rivian, GM announced its own intentions to bring an electric pickup truck to market — though at this point, there are no details, only a confirmation of intent. We also got a chance to see what one designer thinks a Tesla pickup truck might look like, and the results are, well … interesting. Rivian also showed off more of what its planned R1T electric truck can do with a video chronicling a brief road trip.

F-250 Fuel Economy?

Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 8,500 pounds aren’t required to report fuel-economy figures. If you’re a consumer, that’s a problem when it comes to comparison shopping. Cars.com reviewer and PickupTrucks.com contributor Aaron Bragman recently got his hands on a 2019 F-250 XL and decided to take it on a fuel-economy loop; you can check out the results via the link below.

Duramax Engine-Block Heater Recall

Model-year 2017-19 heavy-duty trucks from both GM brands may be subject to recalls if equipped with a Duramax diesel engine and an optional engine-block heater. A short-circuit may occur and damage engine components or increase the risk of fire. Be sure to check out the full recall information and find out if your truck may be affected.

That about sums it up, but if you want to read the full stories — which, you totally should — you can see everything PickupTrucks.com has covered since May 2 below:
