CARS.COM — Fresh off its October unveiling, the all-new BMW X2 will debut in the proverbial flesh at Detroit’s Cobo Center during the 2018 North American International Auto Show. BMW’s latest SUV, the new X2, is a hatchback-ish model based on the current X1. Bimmer fans should mark their calendars for Jan. 15-16, when we’ll get a chance to see it up close during the Detroit auto show’s media preview.

That isn’t all. The updated i8 exotic coupe will also debut in Detroit, though BMW already revealed it — alongside a new convertible variant — a few weeks ago. We saw the droptop at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, highlighting the current i8’s visual changes for 2019. Both body styles get more power and range, but visual updates are minimal.

Both the X2 and i8 hit U.S. dealerships in the spring of 2018, so expect pricing closer to then. In the meantime, check back in January for full coverage of the X2 and i8 reveals as we report live from the auto-show floor in Detroit.
