GM’s luxury brand has announced pricing for the upcoming 2016 Cadillac CTS-V high-performance sport sedan. The new model will start at $84,990, including the destination fee, when it arrives at dealers later this summer. Ordering for the new super sedan is now open at Cadillac dealerships around the country.
The new 640-horsepower CTS-V undercuts its rivals on price while delivering more power and performance, according to Cadillac. Entry price for the 560-hp 2015 BMW M5 is $94,550, while the 550-hp 2015 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG begins at $94,525. The E63 is offered in a more powerful (and more expensive) S version, and is also available as a wagon.
The price of the 2016 CTS-V is considerably higher than the last model, which rang in at $72,195 including destination and a gas guzzler tax. The new ’16 model will only be offered as a sedan, whereas the prior CTS-V came in coupe or wagon styles. Cadillac has moved the CTS-V’s price up to make room for the smaller ATS-V, which will start at $61,460 when it arrives in early summer in either coupe or sedan form.
