Chrysler Ends 60-Day Money Back Guarantee, Extends Incentives

Despite Chrysler’s media blitz on the guarantee, only 21 buyers chose to invoke the money-back guarantee instead of taking other Chrysler incentives, such as cash-back or low-interest financing. That’s a tiny percentage of buyers over the past two months, with sales over that time period at nearly 200,000 vehicles.

Except for Ram, all of the Chrysler brands opted out of continuing the program after the initial two-month period, said Ralph Kisiel, a Chrysler Group spokesman. The majority of Chrysler shoppers were opting for financing incentives, not the money-back pledge, he said. Those incentives include zero-percent financing for up to 60 months on 2010 models.

In other Chrysler news, the company announced it will team up with U.S. Bank to make leasing easier for its customers interested in Chrysler’s remaining 2010 models, including the 300, Town & Country, Dodge Charger, Grand Caravan, Journey, Nitro, Jeep Wrangler and Liberty vehicles.

Ally Bank, which financed or leased 50 percent of all Chrysler retail sales year to date, is also offering bonus cash on some vehicles.
