Dodge Demon Dominates Our Top 5 Videos of 2017
CARS.COM — As 2017 (mercifully, finally, thankfully) comes to a close, it’s time to fall back on an age-old TV trope: the clip show! Our talented videographers and editors shot hundreds of videos over the course of the year for both Cars.com and sister site PickupTrucks.com.

After very careful consideration of the artistic merits and cultural impact of all of our videos, we settled on bringing you the five most-viewed videos we published this year on our YouTube channel. Here they are in reverse order:

Notice a pattern? With the exception of the Accord — one of the most popular cars in the country that people actually, like, buy — our viewers exhibited a preference for videos about two of the most extreme new vehicles out there.
The Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 takes a stock Ford F-150 Raptor pickup — no slouch in the power or craziness departments already — and adds significant oomph to its turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 engine and, oh yeah, an entire extra axle. It’s also lifted an additional 7 inches and has custom 20-inch wheels, custom front and rear bumpers, and a custom bed to incorporate the additional axle. Prices for the VelociRaptor start in the mid-$300,000s and can easily exceed that with extra options.
And then there’s the Challenger SRT Demon: Dodge’s long-teased and crazy-powerful drag-strip monster. You wanted to see what we thought when we finally got to drive it, and in the lead up to that moment you desperately wanted to hear it. Our first chance to hear it running since its reveal was surpassed by the first time we heard it scream.
Demon saturation probably kept the driving experience from placing higher, since so much about the car already had been covered by the time we drove one. Or maybe y’all already knew what we would confirm: The Demon is hellishly fast.
