Dodge's People Haulers Get Blacktop Package

More Dodges get the sinister-looking Blacktop Package as the 2013 Durango, Grand Caravan and Journey can now be equipped with the option’s blackened exterior features. The Dodge Charger, Challenger and Avenger were previously the only cars privy to the blacked-out look that includes gloss-black-painted wheels, grilles, headlights and more.

It doesn’t take much to equip Dodge’s people haulers with the Blacktop Package. Pricing starts at $295 on the Dodge Durango Rallye and R/T, which includes a gloss-black grille and gloss-black 20-inch aluminum wheels.

The Grand Caravan Blacktop Package (above) on SXT models costs $595 and adds 17-inch polished aluminum wheels with gloss-black highlights, a gloss-black grille, blackened headlight housings (late availability) and blackened fog light housings. Grand Caravans also receive an all-black interior with silver accent stitching.

The Dodge Journey’s Blacktop Package (above) on SXT trims offers additional features with an increased price of $995. The blackened 19-inch wheels and grille are the start, and the headlights, side mirrors and lower front styling are also painted black. What’s more, Dodge’s well-executed 8.4-inch Uconnect touch-screen is also included in the package.

We’re not sure who needs a sinister-looking seven-passenger minivan, but, hey, if it makes someone feel better about driving an extremely functional yet underappreciated minivan then go for it.
