Ford F-150 to Offer Factory-Installed Strobe Lights

Ford announced that it will offer a factory-installed strobe light kit for the F-150 pickup truck for the first time. This kit is already available from the factory on Ford's line of Super Duty trucks, but this is the first time the feature has been offered on a half-ton, making it a class-exclusive for Ford.

The no-drill flasher lights are designed for use by utility, municipal or road construction crews for additional safety at work sites; the lights flash and warn oncoming traffic. The kit adds two pairs of lights: one set at the top of the hood pointing forward and the others next to the brake light at the rear of the cab and next to the center high-mounted stoplight.

The flash pattern can be changed to meet the requirements for different fleets from the inside of the truck. Ford says that the lights can be seen up to 1,000 feet away during the day and a mile away at night. The feature will be available on all F-150 models for $700.
