There’s plenty of hype about year-end sales deals, and it’s easy for deals to get lost in the shuffle. The Event of a Lifetime? Sounds a bit dramatic. Red Tag Sales Event? Better get shopping — those tags are red! For some, they’re just another unwelcome level of anxiety around the holidays — a mad rush to make cars fly out dealership doors before the year’s over. But do they pay dividends?
For the consumer, at least in GM’s case, the answer is no. Despite fussing over its December Red Tag Sales Event, the manufacturer is keeping offers going through March 3. Many of those offers — especially on 2007 models — are nearly identical to last month’s deals, meaning consumers who sat things out in December have an extra couple of months to breathe deeply before buying.
