The Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid was introduced in 2023 after a redesign for the gas version of the SUV in the same year. The Sportage is one of the larger, more spacious options in the compact SUV class and features a well-thought-out interior design. Since the redesign, the PHEV has received new trim levels and minor cosmetic changes. The 2026 Kia Sportage PHEV will start at $41,885, while the X-Line Prestige trim level is an extra $6,700, at $48,585 (all prices include a $1,395 destination fee).
Both trims of the Sportage PHEV feature all-wheel drive and have a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 72-kilowatt motor, which together produce 268 horsepower; the powertrain is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The X-Line comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, while the X-Line Prestige features a panoramic curved 12.3-inch display for the infotainment system. The SUV comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The X-Line Prestige features heated and ventilated front seats, as well as heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. It also features a Harman Kardon premium sound system with a subwoofer. In addition, the higher trim comes equipped with various safety systems like blind spot collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance, navigation-based smart cruise control, a 360-degree camera system and remote park assist.
