Hyundai Announces Five-Door Accent Hatch on Jalopnik

There are a lot of other websites covering the 2011 Detroit auto show, and one of them is the irreverent site, Jalopnik. During a live online interview with Hyundai CEO John Krafcik, a Jalopnik reader asked if the company would release a five-door version of the next-generation Hyundai Accent.
 
The CEO took the opportunity to break a cardinal rule of the auto industry and confirm a future model.

And his quote had some moxie: “For you [reader] fhrblig, we will officially announce right now a 5-door Accent is coming. By the way, it will kick the Fiesta’s butt,” Krafcik said.
