Hyundai says that the equipment and pricing of mid-model year value edition vehicles can equal a discount of as much as $980, but the best change Hyundai has made is making safety and driver assistance vehicle tech features, including automatic emergency braking, more available at a better price.
The Plus versions of Hyundai’s Sonata are on sale now and affect most of the trim levels, though not the base SE or high-mileage Eco. Here’s how the new Hyundai Sonatas add up (all prices including $885 destination):
- Sonata SEL Plus remains priced at $24,585 but gets a sportier front bumper and grille, front seat dual automatic climate control, console-mounted rear climate vents, wireless phone charging, a heated steering wheel and an auto up/down driver’s window.
- A Hyundai Sonata SEL Plus with Tech Package is new, priced at $25,185 and includes added safety features with a front collision system with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and an electronic parking brake. (This is the best value of the bunch for features and safety.)
- Sport Plus gets a $400 price cut to $25,685 and gets a sportier front bumper and grille, dual automatic climate control, console-mounted rear climate vents, wireless phone charging, a heated steering wheel and an auto up/down driver’s window.
- A Hyundai Sonata Sport Plus with Tech Package is new, priced, at $26,285 and includes a front collision system with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and an electronic parking brake.
- Sonata Limited Plus with Tech Package is new, priced at $28,285 (the same price as the previous Limited model) and includes a front collision system with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, an electronic parking brake, sportier front bumper and grille, wireless phone charging and a heated steering wheel.
- Sonata Limited Plus with Ultimate Package gets a $600 price cut to $30,585 and includes a sportier front bumper and grille and panoramic sunroof.
- Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T Plus gets a price cut of $550 to $32,785.
