That will force the existing used-car inventory’s prices to jump while supply is low. Once Cash for Clunkers ends, however, KBB says the value of these cars could plummet.
What does this mean for consumers? While one could debate their predictions about the bubble bursting, it might be a good time to trade in your used car, which isn’t eligible for the Clunkers program, and get the top value for it.
