Dale Crawford honestly didn’t know about a parking ticket he was given nearly 60 years ago until he found it in a box of mementos just recently.
Crawford, 79, paid the $1 parking ticket to the city of Houston this week.
Why did it take so long? The ticket was issued the day Crawford was inducted into the Army during the Korean War. He only discovered the ticket after going through an old box of keepsakes his mother kept. The ticket was issued because his father was late to pick up the car after Crawford had shipped out.
The veteran was still determined to pay the $1 ticket. “I am gonna pay the mayor cold hard cash,” Crawford said.
