CARS.COM — Mazda has released photos and a few bits of information on the 2017 Mazda3 compact sedan and hatchback. Set to arrive in the U.S. later this year, the 2017 Mazda3 receives front and rear styling updates, a few tweaks to the interior and new technology.
Subtle changes to the grille, fog lights and bumpers don’t dramatically alter the Mazda3’s appearance, which is still defined by a plunging chrome-trimmed grille that dominates the front end. The large-grille approach has been used by other brands, most notably Audi.
The interior carries over mostly unchanged, but there’s a new steering wheel and an updated center console with an electronic parking brake instead of the bulkier hand brake of the prior model.
The 2017 Mazda3 will also feature G-Vectoring Control, which can vary engine torque based on steering input to lower the frequency of steering corrections, according to Mazda.
