CARS.COM — The MitsubishieX Concept took a bow at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and it sure is … something. An SUV packed full of technology, the eX Concept is Mitsubishi’s attempt to indicate the future of its vehicles in terms of both design and function. It’s got all the latest safety features, including autonomous driving, and an electric drivetrain. Then again, it also doesn’t seem to have traditional side mirrors … and are the tires painted? So maybe it’s not the most straight-to-production concept we’ve ever seen.
Inside are five seats, with the driver and front passenger separated by a large, “floating” center console. A multimedia display that also appears to float is attached to the dashboard. The concept is also set up as a right-hand-drive vehicle, something that obviously won’t be making its way to North America.
Did Mitsubishi hit or miss with the eX Concept? Take a look at the gallery below.
