CARS.COM — The popularity of compact SUVs is soaring, and Mitsubishi looks to capitalize on it with a new Limited Edition trim level of its 2017 Outlander Sport.
Set to be revealed later at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, the Limited Edition has unique styling cues along with features like heated front seats and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. It hits dealerships later in February with a starting price of $22,890, including an $895 destination charge, for the front-wheel-drive version. All-wheel drive is an extra $1,500.
Black exterior accents distinguish the Limited Edition from other Outlander Sport trims; the mirror caps and 18-inch alloy wheels are both painted black. There are also foglights, high-intensity-discharge headlights, a Limited Edition badge, an alloy fuel door and a backup camera.

Power comes from a 148-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-drive models are rated at 24/30/27 mpg city/highway/combined. Estimated gas mileage for the all-wheel-drive version is slightly lower at 23/29/26 mpg.
