Next Nissan Compact Coming to U.S.

However, the company also said that it will use the same platform for a vehicle in North America. To us, it sounds like we won’t get the Micra, but it’ll likely be similar so Nissan can compete on size with the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Accent. Nissan’s current Versa compact is actually quite a bit larger than either of those vehicles, despite having a sub-$10,000 version.

Production of the new cars won’t start overseas until next year. We likely won’t see them until 2011. Perhaps Nissan will unveil more plans for the U.S. version during this winter’s auto-show season.
