CARS.COM — Finally, a van people want to get into even though it doesn’t say “FREE CANDY” on the side: Nissan is showing the NV Cargo X off-road concept van at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show[MP3]. Powered by a Cummins diesel engine, the off-roader is more Dakar Rally support vehicle than plumber’s van. Based on the plain-vanilla NV2500 HD van that usually spends its days in corporate fleets carrying around tools and cargo, the NV Cargo X retains that ability; the cargo area features a full-size spare tire, a portable welder, high-lift jack and other tools.
LED lights, wild graphics, a winch, a custom tubular bumper and a custom skid plate combine with the lifted suspension and 37-inch off-road tires to let you know that this van means business.
