When Volvo first unveiled its smallest SUV ever, the electric EX30, we were enthusiastic. Stylish and tidy, with a range of up to 275 miles and a starting MSRP below $35,000, it was an appealing package. Now that sales are starting, the 2025 EX30 is still stylish and tidy, but scratch that business about the range and pricing.

Simplified Lineup

We’re no longer getting the longest-range single-motor base model in the U.S. for 2025. The only 2025 EX30 on sale here is the Twin Motor Performance, whose front and rear motors combine to produce 422 horsepower. According to Volvo, that’s capable of flinging the curvy little crossover from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. With that second motor sucking down electrons, maximum range for the U.S.-market EX30 drops to an EPA-rated 253 miles on the standard 19-inch wheels and 250 with the optional 20s. Capable of DC fast charging at up to 153 kilowatts, Volvo claims the EX30 can juice up from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

Availability and Pricing

Volvo is taking orders for the 2025 EX30 now. Pricing, including the $1,295 destination fee, is as follows:

Plus: $46,195

Ultra: $47,895

Safety Features and Trim Levels

While the price has increased significantly from our first look at the EX30, the small SUV’s suite of advanced safety systems remains impressive. Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, lane departure steering assist, oncoming traffic detection with automatic braking, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitors with steering assist, front and rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver attention monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.

In addition, the entry-level Plus trim features LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, a fixed panoramic moonroof and a power liftgate. The cabin features synthetic leather and cloth upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In, wireless phone charging and a nine-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

For just $1,700 more, the Ultra adds automated parking, a 360-degree parking camera, Volvo’s Pilot Assist hands-on semi-autonomous highway driving system with lane change assist, and available upgraded upholstery.
