CARS.COM —Porsche debuted the second generation of its Panamera fastback sedan earlier this year, and the car will make its U.S. debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show next week. The appearance will also mark the debut of a new V-6 engine for the car and a new long-wheelbase Executive version. The redesigned 2017 Panamera is scheduled to hit dealerships in January 2017.
Porsche has already revealed details on 4S and Turbo versions of the new Panamera, which are powered by a 440-horsepower, turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 and a 550-hp, 4.0-liter turbo V-8, respectively. The new V-6 debuting in L.A. is also turbocharged and is rated at 330 hp. It will power the base rear-wheel-drive Panamera and the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4. (Both the 4S and Turbo have all-wheel drive.)
Porsche sold a long-wheelbase version of the previous Panamera and the redesigned Panamera will also offer this body style. With a wheelbase that’s 5.9 inches longer than the regular Panamera’s, Executive models have a panoramic roof, heated and electrically adjustable front and rear seats, and an adaptive air suspension. A rear center console is optional.
