A faulty engine sensor has caused a massive recall of 1997-2003 Ford Super Duty pickups, Excursion SUVs and E-Series vans outfitted with a 7.3-liter diesel engine. The defective part can degrade over time and cause the engine to stall.

Ford reports there have been 14 accidents or incidents when the vehicles lost control. Letters will be sent to owners later this month.
