Vehicles Affected: Approximately 111,889 model-year 2005-07 Chevrolet Corvette sports cars; GM says that Corvettes from the 2008-13 model years are also covered under a Customer Satisfaction Program.

The Problem: Over time, the under-hood electrical center housing could expand due to engine heat, causing the headlamp control circuit to bend. This could cause the wire to break and the low-beam headlamps to malfunction, increasing the risk of a crash.

According to GM, this issue does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, daytime running lamps or fog lamps. The automaker has reported “several hundred” complaints related to this issue, but no accidents.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the affected parts for free.

What Owners Should Do: GM has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Concerned owners can contact Chevrolet at 800-222-1020 for more information.
