According to the automaker, simultaneous operation of the front door handle (on either side) and the manual or automatic lock could break the door handle release cable. If this happens, the door may not latch closed properly or come open unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury. Honda says no accidents or injuries have been reported related to this issue.
Honda will notify owners starting in mid-August, and dealers will replace the affected parts free of charge.
