Recall Alert: 2014 Acura MDX

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 19,197 model-year 2014 Acura MDX crossovers. Only all-wheel-drive MDXs built between May 6 and Oct. 14, 2013, are affected.

The Problem: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reporting that faulty bolts that attach the drive shaft to the automatic transmission could become loose and allow the shaft to detach. If this happens during driving, it could cause a loud noise and distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the affected parts for free.

What Owners Should Do: Acura parent company Honda will notify owners later this month. Owners can call Honda at 800-999-1009 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 for more information.
