Vehicles Affected: Approximately 170 model-year 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 work trucks built at the Ohio Assembly Plant between June 18 and Nov. 15, 2015
The Problem: The air brake jounce hoses could contact the truck's rear axle housing while the vehicle is in operation; this could cause a leak and the inadvertent application of the parking brake or diminished parking performance and increase the risk of a crash. Ford said it is unaware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
The Fix: Dealers will install a rear brake air chamber replacement and will also inspect the brakes and parking brake air lines for damage and replace them as needed; all repairs will be done free of charge.
What Owners Should Do: Ford did not release an owner identification schedule. Owners can call Ford at 866-436-7332 or enter their vehicle identification number here.
