Vehicles Affected: Approximately 6,800 model-year 2017 Ford F-150 pickup trucks manufactured from Oct. 4 to Nov. 23, 2016, at the Dearborn Assembly Plant in Michigan and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri
The Problem: The instrument panel cluster display may not illuminate the transmission shift position indicator upon startup in cold temperatures, which could result in unintended vehicle movement and increase the risk of injury or a crash. Additionally, a malfunctioning instrument panel cluster display may prevent warning chimes, messages and warning lights from activating. Ford is unaware of any fires, accidents or injuries related to this issue.
The Fix: Dealers will reprogram the instrument cluster display for free.
