We’ve been drooling with anticipation for the newest SUV from Porsche since we sat in it at the New York International Auto Show. Now that the 2011 Cayenne is headed to dealers, the prices have been announced, and they’re just slightly higher than the outgoing 2010. You can check out our report on the model changes here.
The base Cayenne will start at $46,700 before a $975 destination charge, the Cayenne S at $63,700, the Cayenne S Hybrid at $67,700 and the range-topping Cayenne Turbo starts at $104,800. The outgoing 2010s come in at $45,500, $60,700 and $99,900, respectively. The hybrid is new for 2011.
Using Porsche’s configurator, we checked off nearly every option on a base Cayenne and it totaled an astounding $116,185 with the destination fee. You can add on everything from a $5,690 Burmester surround-sound stereo to a $3,980 air suspension. A Cayenne Turbo? Well, it has more standard equipment, so it totaled just $130,635 with the destination charge.
Finally, we priced out a Cayenne S we could “live with” (pictured above), including nice-looking 20-inch wheels and options such as bi-xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights ($1,860), keyless entry and start ($1,090), heated and cooled seats (two separate options totaling $1,850) — come on, Lincoln makes this standard in the MKT — a less expensive Bose surround-sound system ($1,690) and a navigation system ($3,645). It came to $80,065 with a destination fee, which sounds almost reasonable to us.
