CARS.COM —Look at the cars/Look how they shine for you/These special Subarus/Yeah, they were all yellow. Pardon our interpolation of Coldplay’s hit song, “Yellow,” but it befits Subaru’s limited-edition 2017 BRZ Series.Yellow sports coupe arriving next year in all its canary-colored glory.
The Series.Yellow (we’re not sure if it’s pronounced “Series-dot-Yellow” or simply “Series-Yellow”) will be limited to just 500 units and feature a namesake color scheme and performance upgrades. The bright exterior color takes cues from a yellow jacket wasp, with its bold yellow paint job contrasted by black 17- by 7.5-inch alloy wheels, badging and foldable side mirrors.
The color scheme continues inside the cockpit, with black leather and Alcantara upholstery featuring yellow contrast stitching on the bolstered sport seats, door and dash panels, steering wheel, knee pads and shifter boot. There’s also yellow stitching on the logo-embroidered floor mats.
Based on the 2017 BRZ Limited trim and equipped with the Performance Package, the Series.Yellow gets beefed-up stopping power courtesy of upgraded Brembo performance brakes and Sachs Performance shocks. No immediate word on pricing, but the 2016 Limited model starts at $26,190, including a $795 destination charge.
