File this incentive under confidence or hubris: Suzuki will offer potential buyers $100 to test drive their new sport sedan, the Kizashi. Hoping to spur early sales and get shoppers inside the car, Suzuki will hand you a check or stored value debit card upon completion of the Kizashi Test Drive Challenge.
To be eligible, customers must first test-drive the Kizashi and then end up purchasing either a 2010 Audi A4 2.0T or a 2010 Acura TSX four-cylinder model within 10 days of their Kizashi test drive. Of course you’d have to be willing to spend the $29,310 on the TSX or the $31,450 for the A4.
While the Kizashi is a huge improvement in terms of styling and interior refinement from past Suzukis, it does not compete with entry-level uxury sport sedan segment. It starts at $18,999. Perhaps they should have targeted VW Jetta shoppers.
In the very likely scenario that a customer does not run to snap up one of these two other cars within 10 days of driving a Kizashi, perhaps Suzuki will at least get auto bloggers to write about their publicity ploy (you fooled us yet again, Suzuki).
The program runs through Jan. 31, 2010, so you have two months to climb into a Kizashi.
