Toshiba will introduce the highest-capacity automotive-grade hard disk drive on the market, capable of storing 200 gigabytes of data.

The 4,200 rpm SATA MK2060GSC (catchy name) will improve telematics, navigation and entertainment systems by offering increased storage capacity. As cars begin to perform complicated tasks such as communicating with sources outside the vehicle, having plenty of disk space will become more and more necessary.

Information from outside content sources will keep growing, and Toshiba says that cars must keep pace. This HDD nearly doubles the maximum storage capacity currently available and will improve performance for telematics and media applications.
