Just a couple years into the current generation, the Mitsubishi Outlander will get significant updates for 2016. Mitsubishi announced today that the new SUV, which boasts “over 100 engineering and design improvements,” will debut April 2 at the 2015 New York International Auto Show.
Headlining the changes is what Mitsubishi calls its next design language. Judging by a couple teaser shots, the updates appear to dump the Outlander’s face, which is either ghastly or forgettable, depending which Cars.com editor you poll. The tail swaps last year’s silver, corner-mounted lights for red, horizontal bars.
Stay tuned for full details and our up-close impressions on April 2.
