CARS.COM Our long-term Honda Fit has been sipping fuel at a leisurely pace and is registering a lifetime average of 34 mpg after 10,000 miles, which is down slightly from the last update’s 34.6 mpg at 8,000 miles. Cold weather and a lack of road trips have kept the Fit from stretching its fuel economy on highway journeys. The lowest fuel economy we’ve observed came in this last round of driving with one fill-up measuring 28.1 mpg. The Fit’s EPA combined rating is 36 mpg.

We’re not sweating the low number considering how affordable gas is; it only costs an average of around $16.00 to fill up the little red hatchback every 240 miles on a near-empty tank. The total spent on fuel is just $1,056.40 after logging 10,731 miles in our Fit.
