What’s New for the 2025 Hyundai Palisade?

A new model year brings only very minor changes to the 2025 Hyundai Palisade, with a moderate-to-major refresh coming within the next couple of model years. And though we like the Palisade quite a bit, that’s probably a good thing — it’s in need of an update.

What’s New for 2025?
Other than minor trim consolidation and price tweaks, the Palisade carries over into the 2025 model year mostly unchanged. The XRT trim gains more standard equipment (including front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and auto-dimming side mirrors), and the SEL’s Premium Package is now its own trim level called the SEL Premium.
Trim Levels and Pricing
The biggest trim change is the consolidation of the SEL with the Premium Package into the new $45,565 SEL Premium trim for the new model year, representing a $180 increase over the prior configuration. Speaking of pricing, 2025 brings an increase across the lineup, buoyed at the baseline with a minor bump in the destination fee from 2024’s $1,395 to $1,415.

All trims are available with optional all-wheel drive for $2,000 except the range-topping Calligraphy Night Edition, where it’s standard.
- SE: $38,215 (up $170 from 2024)
- SEL: $40,965 (up $170)
- XRT: $44,065 (up $870)
- SEL Premium: $45,565 (New)
- Limited: $49,615 (up $270)
- Calligraphy: $52,015 (up $270)
- Calligraphy Night Edition: $55,515 (up $270)
Abyss Black Pearl, Hyper White, Moonlight Cloud, Sierra Burgundy, Steel Graphite and Typhoon Silver are all available for no extra cost on the 2025 Palisade SE, SEL, SEL Premium, Limited and Calligraphy, the latter adding a trim-exclusive Robust Emerald green. The off-roadish XRT trim is available only in black, white or silver, while the range-topping Calligraphy Night Edition can only be configured in either black or white.
Powertrain Specs and MPG
A 3.8-liter normally aspirated V-6 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission is the only powertrain configuration available regardless of whether the Palisade has front- or all-wheel drive; it makes 291 horsepower and 262 pounds-feet of torque.
EPA-rated fuel economy depends on the drivetrain. The FWD 2025 Palisade is the thriftiest, rated at 19/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined; those figures drop slightly to 19/24/21 mpg with AWD.
With a trailer equipped with brakes, the 2025 Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds, dropping to 1,650 pounds without trailer brakes.

Tech Features
All 2025 Palisades come standard with requisite kit and caboodle like automatic climate control, keyless entry, a power liftgate and a push-button ignition. Baseline tech includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, with lower trims utilizing a 4.2-inch digital instrument panel display against the optional 12.3-inch display available in the SEL Premium and above.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Device charging is handled in the first and second rows by one USB-A and four USB-C ports; third-row charging is exclusive to the SEL Premium and above, with dual 2.1-amp USB-C ports. Wireless charging is standard on all trims save the base SE. Audiophiles should aim for a Palisade equipped at or above the Limited trim, as that’s where the premium Harmon Kardon 12-speaker sound system is introduced.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
Only a few bits of safety tech are gated behind higher trims on the 2025 Palisade. All trims arrive with forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert and automatic braking, blind spot collision warning, lane departure steering assist, driver attention warning, rear parking sensors and Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist I, which combines lane-centering steering with adaptive cruise control.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety last tested the Palisade for 2024; it earned a Top Safety Pick award thanks to top marks in all categories, though the SUV was not tested in the updated iteration of the infamous front overlap crash test. Our Car Seat Check of the 2024 Palisade rewarded the three-row SUV with A grades for all but the booster seat (B), third-row access (B), third-row forward-facing convertible (B) and third-row booster seat (C).
Should You Buy a 2024 or 2025 Hyundai Palisade?
If you were holding out for a significantly revised feature set for the Hyundai Palisade, there’s no significant difference between the 2024 and 2025 model years. Pricing has increased, but not significantly enough to make it an untenable comparison, so it’s all in what you can find in your color, configuration and price range.
