Beware of Certified Autoplex – Fraudulent and Dishonest
Beware of Certified Autoplex – Fraudulent and Dishonest Dealership If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Certified Autoplex has been nothing short of a nightmare. This dealership operates with fraudulent practices, unethical sales tactics, and complete disregard for their legal obligations. I purchased a vehicle from them, and not only did they fail to register my vehicle as required by Texas law, but they also sold it to me without disclosing that they didn’t even have the title! This has caused me countless headaches, including delays in receiving my tags and operating a vehicle that isn’t legally registered. The salesperson, AJ, is a liar who was eager to close the deal the moment the sale was complete. He ignored the issues at hand, refused to address my concerns, and made me regret ever buying from this dealership. To make matters worse, the manager is just as bad—completely unresponsive and unwilling to resolve these serious issues. Certified Autoplex’s negligence has not only inconvenienced me but also exposed me to legal risks and financial hardship. They care about quick sales, not their customers. This is not just bad service—it’s outright fraud. I will be filing complaints with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Better Business Bureau. I’m also considering a lawsuit for deceptive trade practices. Save yourself the trouble and stay FAR AWAY from Certified Autoplex. They’re nothing but scammers in suits.

Edited to include response to owner* The short:
Edited to include response to owner* The short: Pro-haggling dealership squeezed $500 out of us through "special services" on the purchase of a vehicle. The long: We drove an hour and a half to look at a vehicle. Fabio said he would get the vehicle "ready for us." We arrive and decide we want to purchase the vehicle. At our request, Fabio removes all of the additional expenses except for one category I believe was listed as something like "additional services." OK, Fabio, why did you not remove that? Well, I can't. Remember how I was getting it ready for you? I was applying product to the paint and tires. Typically, when I perform a favor for someone, that looks more like me getting someone a complimentary cup of coffee. Or helping a student with an assignment using my free time. Not upcharging someone on services without explicitly telling them. Why did the dealership do this? I think it's probably simple. They have an agreement with other companies that makes the practice of preparing vehicles this way very lucrative for all parties EXCEPT the customers. We took the deal after trying to get them to be as reasonable as possible. They reduced it to $500 from $700-$800, and waived the 3% credit card fee ($90). That's all well and good, but that still leaves me out the $500. I would rather pay the convenience fee for the card which would be more justified. Could the Dealership be looking out for your best interest by overriding your preferences? Even if you humored that idea, these products/services are difficult to justify because when it comes to the two large expenses: -Nitrofill is nitrogen air going into tires. It's even free at many businesses. Our outdoor is approximately 78% nitrogen. -Cilajet appears to last maybe up to 6 months and can be removed with a quick polish. You also don't know how thoroughly this is done to the vehicle with the claybar or how thoroughly the employees are trained. It also could result in the swirling effect mentioned in another review. As with Nitrofill, you're paying for a warranty. The base product is a $20 polymer wax that you can apply yourself. You tell me. How do cheap services total $800? Why are you not given a choice? This is a shame because paperwork was pretty easy and the staff was nice enough. I almost gave at least 3 stars, but the more research I did the more I changed my mind. I still bought the vehicle because it would have been more inconvenient not to at the time, but I think the dealership should be more honest and transparent going forward. EDIT: The owner's reply unfortunately does a good job of supporting my point. An apology is a great start. "We were open late for you." That doesn't prove anything when you're making a multi-hundred dollar tip off of markups. Of course you're open late. Additionally, just because you're charging less than other dealerships on hidden, low-value services isn't a great argument. Management really read what they wanted to read and then spat out a manufactured response designed to protect their practice of disenfranchising you to earn a commission. Also, the information he mentioned isn't the whole truth. Please do your research before coming in, or better yet choose a no-haggle dealership. Dropping my review to one star. "He who can be trusted in small things can be trusted in big things." *Also, please refrain from inserting personal information in your reply.

Dear customer, thank you for your purchase and kind words about our staff. We take reviews very seriously and customers are our top priority! We strive for our low prices, low interest rates and high-quality vehicles that buyers from all over the USA can take advantage of. That is the reason we extended our closing time that night, so you can purchase your new car after work with ease of mind. The products we offer are for your protection and safeguard of your investment. As Fabio explained to you, we made an exception on the product cost, and you paid the dealer cost for a product that is sold at many dealerships for thousands of dollars. We believe your understanding of the coverage is very important. Please contact Fabio to explain the tire protection coverage up to $800 tire replacement for 36 months, your Maintenance program that covers your oil changes, brakes and est. at a discounted rate for 5 years, your lockout service with your roadside assistance for 36 month, also as you mentioned the Ceramic coat that is applied on your vehicle that is covered for 36 month through Cilajet. These products combined are not only essential for your regular upkeep and protection of your investment yet gives you the reliability and protection that you deserve on your new purchase.
Do not use this place.
Do not use this place. We worked with AJ to purchase our BMW X7. It arrived with over $3,000 worth of repairs due to damage from an undisclosed accident. We discovered this after the check engine light came on. We were told the car was in great condition and that they have the cleanest cars around. Buying a car is supposed to be a fun experience, if you want that, go somewhere else!!

The vehicle was in excellent condition when it left via transport to their destination. We have no control of the vehicle once it leaves our store. Although We provide very clear video and over 150 photos for customers to see; we strongly advise customers to do pre-purchase inspections before delivery! Transport damages are common and this complaint sounds like transport damage. We have attached photos of the vehicle condition when it left the store. It had no paint damage and there was no check engine light on. This customer not once had contact us with any of these issues, and this is the first we are hearing about this since purchased one month ago.
I had a terrible experience with this dealership.
I had a terrible experience with this dealership. The salesperson, AJ, was unhelpful and disrespectful throughout the entire process. He didn’t provide clear answers to my questions, leaving me uncertain and worried about whether I was being scammed until the car finally arrived. The vehicle was delivered on a Sunday, and the truck driver unexpectedly demanded cash for payment, something I wasn’t informed about in advance. I was also charged $800 for delivery, despite AJ quoting me $700. After paying, the driver refused to give me a receipt and acted in an intimidating manner. To make matters worse, the car came with only one key, which I wasn’t told beforehand. When I called AJ to address the overcharge and missing key, he dismissively told me that $800 or $700 was the same and said I should just buy another key myself. I’ve never experienced worse customer service and would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

We apologize for the miscommunication from your salesperson. I am glad the vehicle was in excellent shape and arrived on time. Unfortunately you being out of country in Brazil it was tough for AJ to get a hold of you. We simply arrange the transport to your destination, but the cost is determined by the transporter which are third party companies. Most used cars come with one key, and on rare occasions the manufactures we buy preowned vehicles from offer 2 keys. we will update you if one arrives. Again we apologize for laps in communication and if there is anything else we can do please do not hesitate to contact our dealership.

Horrible, dishonest!
Horrible, dishonest! Purchased a 2018 Ford Expedition from Certified Autoplex, 5 months later I'm looking at $7000 worth of needed repairs. It needs the timing kit changes, new brakes, new rotors, new heater hoses, the valve gasket replaced, and an alignment. I've had the vehicle for 5 months, driven maybe 500 miles in total; but, Certified Autoplex is telling me it's "wear and tear"! Stay away! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!

Don't spend a dime at this place!! Arrogance!!
These people are NOT trust worthy. Arrogance as xxxx, especially the finance manager - no Hello, hand shakes nor self intro!! I had money to purchase the car and with only $1K different between their price and my budget....no deal and not even attempt to negotiate. Salesman can not calculate simple math when it comes to sale tax. They will print out the brochures with original MSRP and say they dropped thousands of dollars on it..C'mon man, it's freaking used vehical with mileage...really??!!!

We purchased a tesla model s. Older model very low mileage. Rich was our salesman. He was upfront. Answered all of our questions. Very trustworthy, knowledgeable, patient, and easy to talk to. Made our buying process stress free. We were in and out within a few hours. The price was right. We will definitely check them out again for our next buy. Wife seconds the comments. She loves the car.
