Bait-and-Switch: Paid $220 PPI, Then Ghosted – Avoid!
Bait-and-Switch: Paid $220 PPI, Then Ghosted – Avoid! I'm an out-of-state cash buyer from California. I was ready to buy a 2024 BMW X3 M40i at the full $46,987 asking price—all cash, no financing, and I'd handle shipping myself. Told salespeople Daniel Farrington & Jeff Trautman Day 1: cash only. They said get a PPI; if it passes, buy outright in cash and I can arrange my shipping. No financing mentioned. Paid $220 for PPI—it passed. Then Jeff demanded financing, said manager "won't be happy" with cash. I pushed my full-cash offer to the GM David Lancaster (who had texted me: "family-owned, treats customers like family without the games"). Zero response. No word on my offer. They showed the car to others and ghosted—ignored calls, voicemail, texts, detailed email. Classic bait-and-switch: Made me spend time/money, then flipped rules and vanished. Avoid this place. Reported to BBB & CA AG; planning FTC/Texas complaints.

I made appointment on line and they responded in a
I made appointment on line and they responded in a seemingly helpful way. So, I asked if they could order a small touch up paint for my vehicle. When I arrived they had not done this small ask, instead saying I would have pay in advance, order it then return to collect it. It?s not like I needed a special part for a 1981 Skylark. It is a 2025 Buick, and they should have it or be able to get it fairly quick. And given that I purchased a 30K vehicle from this dealership they should give me the benefit of the doubt that I?ll honor my word and come in and pay for it while I?m getting my car serviced.
