All Salvage Titles, Max is rude

Gogi was nice, but Max was rude, short and dishonest. All of these vehicles have substantial damage - enough for the insurance companies to total them out and sell them for pennies on the dollar at auction. These guys scoop them up for cheap, do shoddy work to fix them up and sell them to unsuspecting buyers who then have to deal with title and insurance headaches. And they'll likely have mechanical issues soon. The transmission on the Forester that I drove was skipping and shifted rough. No good. Buyer beware.

I didn't end up buying a vehicle with this dealership.

I didn't end up buying a vehicle with this dealership. I initially emailed and they responded quickly. I set up my test drive and afterward I still wasn't ready to purchase. I called to ask a few questions and no one answered so I stopped by a few days later and they were happy to assist me and talk through everything. Ultimately I did apply to purchase and they ran my application for the loan and I was denied despite having a 734 credit score. I was not denied for the pre-approvals for any other service including at the dealership I did end up buying from. I am almost confident it's because of the salvage title on Import's cars. You may get a good deal but it may also come with additional challeges.

Great buying experience, Great car.

They are up front that ALL of their vehicles have had some sort of damage, and salvage titles. We found a nice car there and we were treated very well and answered all our questions. The deal was easy to make and we hope to have this vehicle for many years.

Great Service, Great work. Good Value.

This is a company that takes salvage vehicles and gives them new life. I felt my car was reasonably priced and they did a great job of putting everything out in the open. Showed me the damage photos and the work they did to repair it. Ty did a great job of explaining this. I ended up buying the vehicle, trading in my other one and they were more than understanding in giving me time to get the title from my other vehicle. Buy the extended warrantee they offer. It's worth it.

No pressure

Stopped to look for Subaru’s. Max was really nice and didn’t pressure us to buy. We stopped in, test drove a Forester and left. The vehicle wasn’t exactly what my wife wanted but the experience was easy and pressure free.

Don’t waste your time and money here

I bought a car here a couple months ago and they were very nice to me, AT FIRST. Took forever to get my title and tabs, they kept making bs excuses on why they haven’t received it. Talked to DMV and asked if they received any paper work regarding to the car but DMV said they have even recieved their “title transfer”. Over time as you keep asking the dealer questions about the issue and as you keep coming back for THEIR ISSUE in not receiving the title, they become more rude

Avoid Import Auto

1.5 years later: Avoid Import Auto. In March 2018, I paid an additional fee on top of purchase price for a new timing belt. They sub'd job out, which was done incorrectly and negligently. Water Pump installed incorrectly per Toyota's manual, and leaked a couple weeks later. Also, radiator was damaged by the shop when fan was removed. Lastly, car, which is over 6 years old, has hail damage, which I did not notice when purchasing and covered in snow. No courtesy disclosure or notice on the hail damage. Neither Import Auto or the sub shop will stand behind their negligent work, only asking that I pay again for same job. Also, they have refused to respond to three written demand letters from the MN Atty General's Office. So avoid Import if you ever wish to resolve issues that may arise.

Lies and Deception

My wife and I contacted Import Auto Sales to ask about details of a vehicle they had listed on the internet. It was a used Audi that we were interested in. They called us back and answered our questions and we arranged to go test drive the car. The next day we went to look at the car. We liked it alot and asked if we could take it to a mechanic to look at it before we would buy it. The mechanic told us that it had significant body work done on it and that it wasn't good work. We were so surprised because the saleman told us that the vehicle didn't have any damage. We took the car back to the dealership and told them what the mechanic said. They told us that is why the price was so low. We asked why they didn't tell us about the damage before when we asked and they said that they weren't aware of it. We didn't read reviews before going there and are now very glad that we didn't buy a car there because they definitely hide the details about the damage history on their cars. Be careful with this company.
