Krueger doesn’t have a large selection of vehicles, but I still found more cars that I’m interested in there than I did at other dealerships in the area.... They specialize in used imports and had a lot of nice European cars. I knew I wanted a VW, Volvo, or Audi hatchback/wagon, and they had about five to choose from. All were in nice condition. I ended up buying a 2006 Audi A3 for a price I’m very happy with. I took it out it for a couple hours, and had my friend look it over who is a professional mechanic and European car enthusiast/modder. He spent over an hour checking it out and didn’t find anything wrong with it. Dave at Krueger was great to work with. I didn’t feel pressured, and he gave me a nice deal on my trade-in that I couldn’t wait to get rid of. He came across as a nice, regular guy who enjoys what he does. Getting the deal worked out was actually a pleasure and I enjoyed conversing with him a bit about things not even related to cars. A day after I bought my car, the instrument cluster failed. My mechanic friend who checked out the car for me during my test drive didn’t see any problems with it when he hooked up his code reader. I looked online and couldn’t find anybody else who has had this problem It was just a freak occurrence and I don’t think it could have been predicted. Krueger had the instrument cluster replaced (an expensive repair) at no charge to me, no questions asked. Not many companies these days have the integrity to stand behind what they sell, at least not without giving the customer a hassle about it. Next time I need a new car, they’ll be the first dealership I go to.
Just purchased my first car in the USA after moving from overseas. Jim was able to assist me throughout the whole process and was a pleasure to deal with.... I highly recommend making the trip down to Krueger Auto Mart even if you have to drive a little out of your way. The owner David hand picks his cars and this is noticeable by the quality and standard of their vehicles. I am moving to Minneapolis in a few weeks, but will definitely make the trip back to David and Jim for my next car.
Bought my 2nd car from Krueger's. 1st was for my wife in 2000 & it is still running well. Had to get a vehicle for me unexpectantly after an accident totaled... mine. Dave & Jim provided me with options & when time came, an excellent price. When a problem was found shortly after purchase, they went above & beyond with making sure my vehicle was 100% & I was taken care of well (inc. use of loaner). I will go to no other place for my vehicles!!
I was looking at a Mini Cooper at Krueger Auto Mart and test dove it. The transmission shifted very hard and obviously was a problem. I asked to drive... the Mini right next to it and it shifted silky smooth. I mentioned this to David, the salesman, and he said he has drove the car multiple times and never noticed it to be a problem. He said his mechanic would take a look at it and get back to me. 4 days later, no call and when I called him back he said he still hadn't had time to get the car looked at but assured me that nothing was wrong. To anyone buying a car from Krueger Auto, make sure an independent mechanic inspects a car before you purchase.
This is David, not a salesman, the owner. We have been in business for over 34 years, and only sell quality vehicles. I am very disappointed in this r...eview, and do not agree with this customers statement. They did come in and drive a Mini Cooper with 130,000 miles on it, thought that is shifted hard, so I was happy to let them drive one with 50,000 miles on it. I said I had driven both, and felt that both cars drove fine, different but that is to be expected with cars of different ages and mileage. This all occurred on a Saturday about at closing time. On Monday morning I got in the 130,000 mile one and drove it for 40 miles, some city, some highway, and felt that it shifted fine. I consulted with my mechanic, and he agreed. Om Tuesday I received a call from this customer asking if we had looked at it. I said I drove it, the mechanic drove it, and we really feel that it is ok. He made me a very " low ball " offer, which I countered and he said he would think about it. That was the last time I heard from him until this review. I do agree with his last statement, everyone should consult with an independent mechanic when purchasing a used car. I always tell people to do so, and am very happy to let them for their peace of mind. Thank you for allowing my reply, and to this customer , I am sorry things did not work out between us, and I harbor no hard feelings. David
I've been to many used car dealers, and many mechanics, that have left me with a "shady feeling" and a "bad taste" in my mouth. Thankfully, I discovered... Krueger Auto, and it has restored my faith in the auto industry! Krueger Auto is terrific. I began visiting for service several years back. Their mechanic, Bill, is outstanding. He does terrific work, is honest, and demonstrates integrity, which is not always easy to find in a service shop. He never recommends unnecessary work, and is honest about what should be done vs what can wait and what is necessary. It used to be that the first stop when I was in need of auto help was internet forums... now I go straight to Bill, because I know he will be honest, treat me with respect, and take good care of me. Because of my great service shop experiences at Krueger, when it came time to purchase a vehicle recently, I bought from them. Both the owner, Dave, and salesperson, Jim, were extremely accommodating. I feel I received a great deal, and they were helpful and friendly as always. Best of all, because I have confidence in their service, I know the vehicle will be reliable, and I will have a reputable mechanic to take care of it. I recommend Krueger Auto Mart wholeheartedly, and would encourage you to check them out for your next service or purchase need.
Shopping for a car at Krueger's was very satisfying to me. Of course I already had the car in mind that I was after. The people there were so pleasent... and frienly. I will sure recommend them to anyone.
