We corresponded several times and they never answered my

We corresponded several times and they never answered my very direct question about whether a specific car was in their showroom. I am not sure they ever even read my emails. Complete turnoff!

Shady practices

The epitome of a used car lot! Bought a 2017 Acadia. Had it checked out by mechanic before purchasing. He found an oil pan leak- brought it to the attention of the salesman who told me the car is “as is”. I later found out that the oil pan and gasket are part of an implied warranty and must be repaired within 14 days…by law. Thirteen days later the air conditioning stopped working. I found on the Carfax that Bill Kay recharged the AC in July- just a few weeks before I purchased the vehicle. When I brought it to the dealership’s attention they said my mechanic looked at it and didn’t find it. Fun fact- you can’t see a Freon leak without injecting dye and more Freon…this costs nearly $800. I paid for an outside company to run the diagnostics because the Clean Air Act fines businesses for recharging without diagnosing Freon as it is an EPA violation. It was a $1200 repair that took less than 2 days to find. Went back to the dealership and asked them to do the right thing since they were clearly aware of the issue and willfully hid the leak and costly repair. They offered to repair it for $1600 and cover half of it- that plus the cost of me having to diagnose it saves me zero dollars and zero cents. Ignorance is not a legal defense and as a single mom I was the perfect victim. Be cautious! Salesmen will gaslight you into believing that the dealership is responsible for nothing unless you buy their inflated warranty which doesn’t cover the costs of most repairs. The upper management will stall and push the talks to lower level employees. Hoping the Attorney General can help- but Bill Kay is also ignoring their request to answer my complaint within the time frame. The service department is the only saving grace of this facility. They went above and beyond to track down my front plate bracket. The salesman Bert, while timely and eager to make a sale, can be argumentative, dismissive and use gaslighting tactics should you bring up concerns.

Scalping customers

Went to buy an accord they have on the lot. While test driving I was informed that the actual price is $5,000 over what the window sticker and internet states.

Honda dealership

They were not very receptive and unwilling to help me out with my income, I told them I wanted to get an idea of the car I wanted and that it was definitely going to be an accord I have cash to put down but I feel they wanted to use there own financial people.

Terrible!

Absolute terrible service. Purchased a car on Monday used. After completing paperwork my daughter got in it drove it and the check engine light comes on. Called that day and was told service would call. They didn’t contact us until Thursday. Told us to bring it in Friday at 1pm. She sat for 2hrs with no updates. Had to call and tell a manager Steve then told my daughter “I have nothing to do with your car but I’ll look into it” Service then tells her it’s a $700 repair and it won’t be covered. Obviously they don’t know Illinois state law that clearly states we have 15 days or 500 miles whichever comes first and they are liable for any engine component repairs which this vehicle falls under the law. The issue that is wrong is an engine component. A crappy pay here buy here dealership has a 30 day warranty! If I could leave 0 stars I would. I never got a call back from the manager, transferred to the rep who sold the vehicle who proceeded to tell me they won’t pay for. Talked to the general manager Tony who said the same thing who was rushing me off the phone up since I am mad and won’t listen to his excuses. Called the Chevy store since I was told that is where Bill Kay is located, was transferred to the sales manager who proceeded to tell me that it is an as is vehicle again no knowledge of the law the vehicle falls under. I am extremely pissed off and obviously not going to listen to excuses. I am in the car business and this is a terrible dealership! Piss poor!

service department

My car wasn't starting correctly so I took it to the dealership for a diagnosis. The guy in the service department told me I was starting my car incorrectly, did I mention that I have 353,000 miles on my Accord and I'm the only owner...So, I took it to Planet Honda and they found the problem and fixed it. The service department let me drive away with what turned out to be a major problem and when I confronted them with the information their response was " I can read". Bill Kay Honda will not be the dealership I turn to for help.

Excellent customer service

The customer service is impeccable. Everyone is smiling and happy to help, and the service is quick. I had an oil change with filters changed, wiper blades changed, alignment, and interior detail, and there was a scuff on the paint I wanted looked at, and they buffed it out for me. I always schedule my appointments far enough ahead to be able to have a loaner and they always provide a nice, sporty civic for me to use. The prices are so much better than other dealerships I've dealt with, and I don't feel like things are being added on that aren't necessary. Or that I'm being taken advantage of because I'm a woman. This is definitely a wonderful environment and I love that they will do anything to ensure a happy customer.

I have confidence in the Service area of Bill Kay Honda! The staff know me and I trust them. All the cars in our household were purchased from Bert. We trust him and the service department and feel Honda is a quality product. That is why we continue to come back and refer to people we meet to go to Bill Kay and our has their car from Bert!!! We own a HRV, an Accord and a Civic.
