I was very pleased with my experience at J.H. Barkau. Nils contacted me right away from my inquiry on CarGurus and was able to get me preapproved to purchase a car over the phone. That was great because I live about an hour away from the dealership and so wouldn't have wanted to make more than one trip down. When I arrived, it took a little while for someone to notice that I was there, but that may have been because I accidentally went through the back door. Nils did a great job of showing me around to all of the cars that were available and we even test drove the Chrysler up to the dealership in Freeport to see the cars there. He wasn't pushy at all and obviously wanted to make sure that I was able to purchase a vehicle that meet my specifications. The car was on sale and at a reasonable price, so I didn't really bother trying to haggle with them, so I don't know how that would have gone. The finance guy was very helpful as well and got me a great rate. Overall, the experience took a bit longer than I was expecting to get all of the paper work filled out, but this is the first time I have purchased a car on finance, so I don't have anything with with to compare. The vehicles on the lot were all in very nice condition and it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend them.

Got us what we needed quickly at a price better than our expectations. Will go back for next vehicle. They were really busy but kept us moving so we could take car home that day.

I was in a car accident on January 24, 2014 and my car was totaled. My husband and I needed a car that would get me back and forth to Beloit twice a week and up to whitewater once to move our daughter back and forth to school up there. I contacted Tim via internet and he found us a van in our price range. We had gone to sawicki motors 2 times to no avail. Even we told them what our price range was, they still would not come down. Tim gave us a little discount on the van because of the amount of rust it had on it, and we walk off with the van that day. We were going to wait until our mechanic could look at, but my husband decided we could take it home for the price they offered us. We told our church about J.H Barkau and they are looking for a shuttle bus for our elderly members. We are sure that we will make them are car dealership. We will also tell our friends about them. We also went to Tomolains in Freeport and they would not come down on their prices either for us. Out the 3 J.H Barkau & Sons was the best.

tim was are sales rep. when we bought i car. he was so nice and very helpful. he was able to answer every question we had. we had an issue with the car the day after we bought it so on the next business day Tim was able to get the car in n get it fixed for us. If and when i go car shopping again Tim will be the first person that i will go to. Thanks for all of your help Tim. We love are new to us Trailblazer.

Our family has returned here multiple times, we purchased our 4th vehicle here, and it is our 2nd from Brandon! He has always been very knowledgeable and straight forward with us. Answers the questions very positively, and if he doesn't know, he goes and asks! Much better than someone who makes up an answer to sell a car. The vehicle was not "on-site" so, instead of telling us to go to the other location, he went and got his personal vehicle and gave a us a "chauffeured" ride to the drivers door of the vehicle we ended up buying. We were on a time limit (with kids coming home from school) and he accommodated our limits by taking only the info we could supply, and scheduled a time for us to come back. When we came back, surprise! All the paperwork was neatly made up in a nice straightforward way so we could ask questions if needed before signing. So neat, there were no questions! From start to finish (including going to another location) we picked out, test drove, conversed and bought our new car in under 2 hours (financing included onsite!). I found the Cadillac on Craig's list. I called Tim for information. After listening to the report on the car and what had been done to it, I decided to take a look. I called Tim on the way to Cedarville. He had the car ready, warmed up and waiting for my wife and me to take it for a test drive. We liked the car and wanted to see what kind of deal he would give us. We were pleased with the first offer of trade. I gave him the cash offer and drove it home. We are waiting for a manual which Tim said he would get for us as well as some decals. Through out all of my conversations with Tim he has been extremely helpful. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking to buy a vehicle from J.H. Barkau.

These guys are Great! This was the easiest car purchase I've made, they made it so easy! Usually I pay cash but I wanted a car loan on my credit, so they worked it all out for me and everything was fast and easy. Keven was so helpful, we had a situation where our primary car went into the shop at the last minute and we weren't going to be able to get down to the dealership to finalize the new vehicle, and I was going to rent a car. Our salesman offered to pick us up! I couldn't believe it. Once we made the decision to purchase the car, they new we were on a tight schedule, so when we got there everything was ready, final inspection, paperwork, disclosures,, all the loan paperwork, everything was ready for us. We got all the information we needed, all our questions were answered, and we were on the road in record time. I will be needing a car soon for my teen who is about to start driving, and I will definitely be back to see Keven (our salesman ) and Brandon ( the finance guy ) to purchase that car.
