I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Chapman BMW on Camelback. Despite calling ahead to ensure a quick process, I was stuck in finance for four hours. I finally received my vehicle at 8:30 PM, only to find the floor mats and second key missing. The salesperson promised the key would be mailed the next day, but I was later told it would cost $1,500 for these items. Furthermore, despite a claimed 120-point inspection, the low oil light appeared less than 30 days after purchase, indicating it was 2 quarts low. I had to pay a separate manufacturer dealership $1,600 for service and an additional $800 to fix a rear door that wouldn't open due to prior tampering. How did this pass a thorough multipoint inspection? Management falsely claimed they must have just forgotten to reset the light, but a reset does not change a critically low oil level. The General Sales Manager promised a week ago to look into these issues and call me back, but I still have not heard anything. As a business owner, I find this lack of communication and failure to stand behind an inspection completely unacceptable. If you are buying a used vehicle of another make from this dealership, beware. They clearly do not properly inspect or stand behind other brands they sell. 2 weeks later still have not recieved a call back!

Mitch and Aden in parts went far above what’s expected when I was changing the LED door projection lights on my M3. Both helped with determining which size I needed and did the install. None of this was expected but highly appreciated. Would highly recommend either for their knowledge and help.

I bought my new Z with the help of RC Cashatt. The entire process from ordering to delivery was quite smooth and Robert was a pleasure to work with. My previous M roadster has been serviced by Chapman since 2007 and their service department has been top notch.

I ultimately love my car and am happy with my purchase, but the buying experience itself was stressful and disappointing enough that I would not return or recommend this dealership. The sales process felt unnecessarily pushy from the start. I was repeatedly asked to sign every negotiation worksheet, and at one point was told I was “in a deal,” which caused genuine panic, this was never explained upfront, and it felt misleading and high, pressure rather than transparent. I’ve purchased multiple vehicles before and have never experienced that approach. During negotiations, my trade-in keys and car were taken and not returned while discussions were ongoing, which made me uncomfortable and added to the pressure of the situation. That should never happen before a deal is finalized. After agreeing to terms, I was told the vehicle would be fully detailed and filled with gas. Unfortunately, only the exterior was washed, the interior was still dusty and clearly not properly detailed, and the vehicle was not filled with gas as promised. I also waited an additional 15–20 minutes just to have the vehicles brought around so I could transfer my belongings. While the numbers ultimately worked out and I do love the vehicle itself, the overall experience felt rushed, disorganized, and overly aggressive. Buying a car should feel professional and respectful, not stressful and confusing. I’m happy with my car, but I would not do business here again.

Dear Ashley, Thank you for sharing your feedback. While I am glad to hear that you love your vehicle, I am disappointed to hear that your purchase experience did not reflect the level of professionalism we strive to provide at Chapman BMW on Camelback. Since your initial concerns were brought to our attention, my team, including John Jaten, our General Sales Manager, has remained in communication with you and worked to address each item raised. We reimbursed you for the fuel as promised and, after the detailing did not meet your expectations, we offered to cover the cost for you to have the vehicle detailed at a facility of your choice in an effort to make this right and provide flexibility on your terms. Our intention throughout this process has been to resolve your concerns fairly and respectfully, and we regret that we have not been able to come to an agreement that satisfies both sides. If you would like to speak with me directly, please feel free to contact me at (602) 308-4973, or you may reach our General Sales Manager, John Jaten, at (602) 308-4905. We appreciate your business and wish you nothing but the best with your new vehicle. Best Regards, Shane M. O’Hanrahan General Manager Chapman BMW Camelback 602.308.4973

Mitch at Chapman BMW on Camelback has done it again! When it comes to my automotive service needs, he consistently delivers excellent care. He’s a clear communicator, takes time to explain the necessary repairs, and always makes the effort to connect on a personal level. Having come from the car business myself, I truly appreciate how dealership personnel carry themselves—not just with customers, but with fellow team members as well. At a high-end dealership like BMW, professionalism matters at every level, from the person answering the phones to the porters on the service drive. Sometimes actions speak louder than words, and as someone who knows the industry, I notice those details. Mitch and his service team stand out for all the right reasons. I highly recommend them for anyone needing trustworthy, top-notch automotive service.

As a Costco Executive Member, I was referred to Chapman BMW on Camelback through the Costco Auto Program to purchase a pre-owned 2020 Z4 30i. Salesperson Kenneth Smith contacted me promptly and offered what appeared to be a fair price based on Kelley Blue Book. However, despite my requests, neither Mr. Smith nor his sales manager provided written confirmation of the quoted price until two days later—at which point the written quote was substantially higher than the original offer. I was then advised that the vehicle, which had fewer than 7,000 miles, required new brakes, tires, and a \$600 battery—adding approximately \$4,000 to the price. These issues raised serious concerns about the vehicle’s condition and the dealership’s transparency. I declined the offer and reported the experience to the Costco Auto Program. Disappointing experience that did not meet the expectations of integrity and clarity typically associated with Costco’s referral network.

Hello Laru, Thank you for your feedback, we will use it to get better. In researching your deal, it looks like your lead was answered by a Client Advisor when we were closed (Sunday). He was just trying to keep the communication going until the store opened. The Costco price is very transparent and was given to you a couple of days later. Unfortunately, during the time you were contemplating another customer bought the vehicle. We will certainly do a better job of communicating going forward in order to avoid situations like this. That said, if you are still in the market I will offer up myself as a resource. Please call me directly and I will do everything I can to get you the right car at the BEST price. Best Regards, Shane M. O'Hanrahan General Manager Chapman BMW Camelback 602.308.4973

Consumer response

Mr. O'Hanrahan, On Sunday May 18, 2025, Mr. Smith offered to sell the vehicle for $35,900 and I accepted the offer. The following day Mr. Smith sent me a video showing the condition of the vehicle and stated "this car is in such good condition, I should have quoted $36,900, but we will honor the original offer." I asked Mr. Howard for the Costco Auto Deal Rate Sheet and instead got a phone call from manager who advised, "we cannot afford to sell you the vehicle for the price quoted because we put in $4,000 for a new battery and wheels/tires." I withdrew my interest in working with this dealership and purchased a new Z4 M40i from another dealer. Thank you.

Not trustworthy. Price manipulation to avoid giving discounts promised. Poor service. Inept employees. No follow up on problems. misrepresentation on services. Overall this is one shady dealership. Avoid at all costs.

I just bought my first X3 with Steve Murphy as my sales team member and was wonderful! This is my mom car and he helped me a ton to be sure I got exactly what I was looking for. He was super communicative before and during the transaction. He also helped me with a repair shortly thereafter and his customer service exceeded all expectations. Steve has our family as future customers for any vehicle purchase and I so appreciate all of his help and attention to detail!

Brought the car because the break light was on. Asked the advisor to replace the tires and oil/filter. On 7/6/24 the Car was ready. Paid in full and drove-off. Reviewed the Work was completed and saw the break lights were still on. Drove back to the dealership and told the Advisor why my main reason to bring the car to the shop is not addressed. Lucus said,” the repair was deferred.” If I had an accident as a result of dealership neglect to repair my main concern, “UNSAFE CAR WITHOUT A BREAK”, who would be responsible?

Great experience leasing a new BMW iX M60 from Chapman BMW on Camelback. I highly recommend asking for Steve Murphy. He was easy to deal with, answered all my questions, was very patient during the leasing negotiations. He was very patient giving my wife a test ride. The finance Manager I dealt with was Giuseppe Ferrara. He was straightforward and helped me make some intelligent financial decisions. Definitely recommend him, also. In short it was a very pleasant experience dealing with Steve and Giuseppe. And I love my new BMW. I highly recommend you talk to Steve, if you are looking for a new or used BMW.
