Two weeks ago, I was having car troubles and had to leave

Two weeks ago, I was having car troubles and had to leave my car with Honda. My pulley had broke by the belt. At this moment I was stressing out because I was in desperate need of a car. Isiah was so patient and assisted me through the whole ordeal. He had a got me a loaner which was a 2023 Honda Accord. So on Saturday they called and told me that my car was ready, but I needed new wheel barrons. So I told them to go ahead and do it. Isiah had told me that they was taking care of my services for my pulley. Only thing I had paid for was the wheel barrons. To add on the loaner tire had went flat, and they took care of that too. Thanks to Phil Hughes Honda in Athens my car drives like a new car. Thank you so much for the assistance and support from this special team.

Had a great experience.

Had a great experience. Kylie is so knowledgeable and handled the entire process well. I wasn’t expecting to buy a car, but they treated me well and gave me an amazing trade in offer. When the time is right, I won’t hesitate to go back.

Joanna Cobb in the Service Department took care of us

Joanna Cobb in the Service Department took care of us this past Monday and she was great. Friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable. We had something very minor to be taken care of on our CRV and called her that morning with no appointment made. Drove 2 hours to get there and we were in and out in about 15 minutes. I have been using the dealer in Augusta for service even though we bought in Athens. We will be driving to Athens now for our servicing, its worth it. Joanna is the best!

Follow-up Review

Earlier I wrote a rather disparaging review of this dealership which I hope to correct with this review. Although I had a "not so good" experience with the salesman during the purchase of my vehicle, the "after purchase" customer service was OUTSTANDING. Mr. Evans, the GM listened to my frustrations, assured me the dealership would correct the issues to my satisfaction and turned me over to Joanna, a service advisor. She was absolutely a ROCK STAR getting my issues corrected. Kept me informed during the process as they were waiting for a key from Honda! Immediately contacted me with the key was received and made an appointment for me to come in quickly to have the key programmed. Joanna is the epitome of customer service...the good old fashioned kind of customer service! She even vacuumed out my car herself! She's an amazing asset to the dealership! Although I won't be dealing with the same salesman again, I would high recommend this dealership after they proved they actually do care about their customers!! Thanks Mr. Evans and Joanna for turning a BAD experience into a positive one!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!

Worst car buying experience EVER!!! The only reason I had to use Phil Hughes Honda was because they were the only dealership in my area who had a base line CRV. After dealing with the salesman over the internet, who emailed a firm offer, I drove the 54 miles to make the purchase. Upon arrival, my lease trade in (with 6800) miles was "inspected" and the "firm offer" was changed due to a small 1/4" ding on the door. The down payment was decreased by $1000. The floor mats were NEVER USED in the leased vehicle I turned in. The young man who did the inspection said they weren't the original Honda floor mats, basically calling me a liar. After the deal changed, I left without making the deal. Upon returning home, they were calling wanting to make the deal. I refused to drive back to the dealership so they offered to deliver the vehicle to me. I was told there were two identical vehicles on the lot. When the car was delivered, there was only 1 key and NO owners manual. I called the salesman and he claims they 2nd key and the owners manual were not with the vehicle when it arrived from Honda and he had no idea when they would receive it. This is unacceptable.....why deliver a car without EVERYTHING included? Why not deliver the 2nd available vehicle which probably had the two keys and manual. It has been a week...I've heard nothing!!! Are the cars not "checked in" when they are received from Honda? Why weren't the missing items noted when the car arrived at the dealership? I'm thinking the dealership lost the items and now someone has the 2nd key to my vehicle!!! I will NEVER use this dealership again!! Very poor customer service and follow-up. STAY AWAY from Phil Hughes Honda!!!

WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!

WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! As a former car saleswoman I am pretty familiar with how this process works and gave this dealership multiple chances to make good on this deal. Around March 15th, 2023 purchased a 2016 Chevy Tahoe, which will probably be back up on their website soon, just in time for spring break travels so we thought. Just shy of a week after purchase we returned the vehicle due to what we later found out to be transmission issues. They utilized the warranty they provided with purchase to pay for the transmission but tried to tell our family we have to pay for fluids and a deductible. As if this was a courtesy to us. As we anticipated fitting our family in our brand new tahoe we were first put in a honda accord to travel in. But that was after the service manager threaten to have my husband arrested if we drove their vehicle out of state. Since their service department inspected the vehicle multiple times and could not determine the issue, it was sent to a chevy dealer. This confirmed the bad transmission. We requested Chevy complete the transmission replacement as their service department could not even find the issue, but they refused that as well. My husband and I were patient and apprehensive at the sametime but we were reassured that the service department was well trained and equipped to handle a chevrolet vehicle. They then placed us in a Honda Passport to "accommodate us"!! Still just patiently waiting to enjoy the vehicle I purchased and searched for quite some time. When we finally took possession again on April 13th, 2023- the very next day while driving on the highway, the vehicle began spewing out fluids and shaking almost uncontrollably. This was the last straw for my family. I contacted the ASM Armando, and explained that we wanted to roll this deal back, I was told a contract was a contract and he would call me right back. Days later I received an email from a finance manager requesting payoff etc etc....Fast forward to yesterday when I spoke with Armando regarding signing the final paper work to return this vehicle back, he assured me that I would be able to also retrieve my funds given to them as down pymt as long as I arrived to the dealership before 4pm. Another lie and deceptive phone call, as he was only concerned about getting the loaner vehicle back as if I would risk my life, freedom, etc. over a honda passport. When I was in route to the dealership this morning and gave a courtesy call that I was 45 minutes away, he then wanted to "let me know the process" that they would be mailing my funds because they have to wait for the transaction to clear. I've never felt so violated and betrayed by a company. And everytime I requested to speak with the GM, he wasn't available or it was no use because he would just tell Armondo to handle it. My family was inconvenienced as we have had to make multiple trips to Athens ,as we are residents of Covington, Ga. My family was threatened with insinuations of calling law enforcement on two different occasions as if we had done something to question their trust in us when it was the other way around. My family is back at the drawing board looking for another vehicle, yet needing a breather after this horrific experience. Sales people seemed to be great and service advisor Joanna wasn't bad either, I know she was just doing what she was told from the top. But the leaders are deceptive.

Terrible service with sales manager

Jesse Parra was beyond unprofessional when discussing financing options. They never ran my credit and only offered market trend rates. I was quoted a $1,700 payment for a $57K car. There was no wiggle room on their end and obviously did not want to make a sale. Being a woman trying to purchase a vehicle I would never recommend them to anyone I know.

Threatened by this dealership

I love Honda cars. But my experience w Andrew Hagglund, new car sales manager at Phil Hughes Honda in Athens was deplorable. He raised the car price by $1000 than what was quoted by his sales person in writing by email. On top of that he raised the price again by another $700 when I came to purchase the car. When we questioned him about the price increase he threatened and bullied my husband and I in front of his staff and other customers and asked us to leave because we questioned the price increase. If I didn’t have to wait 3 months to get this new car, I would have left. Unfortunately we didn’t have a choice but to buy my new car from this low class dealership staff. Horrible experience. Customers should not be treated this way. We have a right to know why prices were increased. No one should ever be threatened or bullied this way. Other family members and I have always bought Honda cars but this experience has left a bad taste for Honda and the dealership in Athens.

they were a true 'used car dealer' to me

sales associated accepted my deposit paperwork to hold the car. then the same sales associate sold the same car the next day without so much as a courtesy call. surprisingly unethical. this transaction was dishonest and unprofessional.

Stealership as is normal in all of the car sale industry....

Stealership as is normal in all of the car sale industry. You have all the great sales people but the second you meet the finance guy that all falls apart. Phil Hughes Honda had the opportunity to get all my family's future Honda business but instead all they did was take advantage of a misinformed customer by pushing an over priced worthless extended warranty on them. This company has confirmed to me that their industry needs to die a painful but needed death. It's not the free market when laws keep you in business and keep the customer away from the supplier. I look forward to the day deregulation kills the model of these stealerships and allows direct purchases from the manufacturer. In the future I will NEVER bring one of my family members here to Phil Hughes again. Congrats on this being your one and only sale I bring to you. Next time I get a recommendation in my personal business I'll definitely follow your example by telling them the person who they are with and recommended me is wrong. Thank you for belittling your customer and creating strife in their household. You have confirmed today that Tesla's system works, I will do all in my power to lobby our government to open up the industry, and I look forward to the day of closed dealerships.
