Updated: 5/30/24 Turns out - these guys have been programming my service light to come on earlier then the recommended service - so they get credit for the service work - and my 3-Year - 36,000 service warranty - is used up. And - it’s not just that it happened. It’s the way they told me with “from now on you’ll have to pay” with a shrug of Nicholas Kellog’s shoulders (the service person). They didn’t offer to help me learn why my service warranty no longer applied - in fact they only made it harder. I had to dig into this completely in my own — AND CHAPMAN was completely at fault. So dishonest! They've offered to comp me one more service - but it was forced and hardly volunteered. Go somewhere else for your Hyndai needs. The dealer I purchased with in Utah - Murdock - THEY ARE AWESOME. Chapman, where I’be been going after relocating to AZ with a brand new car … are just honestly dishonest and the worst car experience I’ve ever had … more than once. The previous is my experience after giving them their requested “one more chance”. My other experience is below ________________________________ I was 15 minutes late - and genuinely apologetic for being so. Frankie (Francisco Ramirez) at the service desk told me it was fine, and all they needed was 90 minutes tops. I was there for routine maintenance and warranty recall regarding the roof trim (not safety related). “ I told him directly, “do not do the recall work today. I’ll come back.” Frankie asked if I wanted to “skip the car wash as well… to save time” I told him “yes … please”. Almost two hours later I went looking for my car. There was a line of people waiting for Frankie, while 4 other employees sat at the Service Desk avoiding eye-contact - is the only thing I could see they were actively doing (avoiding eye contact). To their credit, they weren’t “on their phones”. Kudos to Hyndai for at least working to manage that optic. But, to their discredit, they weren’t even on a phone. It was like the worst DMV trip ever (but I’m still a little impressed they didn’t appear to be pursuing social media or playing Candy Crush). So … finally I get to talk to Frankie (I should have just left). He tells me that they had gone ahead and completed the warranty. Before that … I was honestly working to take the delay in “we’re all human” stride” . Then… I was mad. I told him “I told you not to do the recall work. I’m already late …” He gave a shoulder shrug. After my back was turned, I’m 4 steps away, reaching to open the door, Frankie calls out (with other people waiting for help) … “you’re the one who showed up late”. If I hadn’t experienced this first-hand, I wouldn’t believe it. I was late. I was sorry. I did apologize. I was under the impression that we’d reset and moved on. I’m also the customer bringing in my $45,000 purchase for the “unbeatable customer care” I was promised … before giving them my money! You know what they didn’t forget to leave out … the car wash. I’ve no doubt, there’s no franchise credit applied for washing the customer’s car. Don’s use Chapman Hyundai. They weren’t just bad, they’re overtly dishonest … it’s the worst kind of “bad”. “How you do something, is how you do everything …”

Hello Jeff, Thank you for your review. To say we are dishonest is not true. We have communicated and apologized for any difficulties in your service visits. In regards to your recommended maintenance, it's explained in detail in your owner's manual, and we have explained it in person. We have looked at your service records. Per our records, we have been performing your scheduled maintenance per the manufacture's guidelines. When you were in last and stated that you felt you still should have another oil change, as a courtesy we gave you one more. With your previous mileage being documented at 27,669, Hyundai only gives complimentary maintenance up to 3 years or 36k miles, whichever comes first. With the complimentary oil change that puts you at the end of your complimentary maintenance. We have done our best to assist you, and we feel we have done the right thing to address your concerns. Great Experience

Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs. Horrible experience and it cost me 23k. They do not stand by their cars. Total rip off. I learned the hard way.

You test-drove the vehicle, which functioned as per the manufacturer's specifications. You also brought in your own scan tool to make sure there were no codes. Purchasing my Santa Fe Vehicle

Now that the trips for the holidays are over, decorations are put away and all things are back to normal for another year, I can finally provide my review on my Salesperson Jim Trafficanta and my new 2023 Santa Fe. When purchasing a vehicle the main ingredient to make a successful and happy purchase is a totally awesome Sales Representative. Well I believe that I struck gold with Jim. Sure I know car salespersons are only out for the sale. Sure they want to make a commission, it's called making a living, no different then the rest of us. Jim was honest, respectful and most of all helpful. He found the 2023 SUV that I wanted, granted I would have preferred a different color, but at the end of the year, options are limited. Jim found a color I was happy with and all the bells and whistles that I wanted. Okay, now the numbers, well you all know that there is a give and take game that goes on. Jim and I were no different, and I was happy with the final cost. No pressure to buy, let me repeat ,no pressure, the decision was totally mine. I brought my grandson who I considered my car purchase consultant. He helped a great deal on the final cost, which we agreed was acceptable. I can not say enough about the treatment by all at Chapman Scottsdale. I found Blake Williams in Finance charming and enjoyable to talk with. I have been a Chapman Scottsdale customer for 11 years, since I purchased a Sonata 2012 and for those 12 years I have put the care of my car in the hands of the Chapman Service Department. So I know the type of individuals that provide service to their customers. Jim just added a 6th star to Chapman's review status. No, I am not related to anyone at Chapman Scottsdale. Thank you Jim, my husband and I love the Santa Fe.

Jesus Bello

We went to Chapman Hyundai just looking and ended up buying a car from a wonderful salesman Jesus Bello. Before taking us on a test drive, he sat in the driver's seat and showed us all the features of the car. This definitely helped as once I started driving I was then quite familiar with all the features. Great salesman and highly recommend Jesus.
