Disappointed in them

Devin Roberts is a very nice salesman and professional and treated my wife and me with courtesy throughout the buying process. My concern here is the 30 day warranty they provide on your vehicle. I purchased a 2014 Honda Civic from Debruhl’s on March 30th 2022 and 1 week later I notice a very minuscule puddle. I take it to get it looked at with Honda service Acura on April 11th 2022 on Sawyer Rd and the PCV valve plate is leaking. Also the belt has cracks in it. Hence I was told before I purchased the vehicle that all vehicles come looked at by a certified mechanic and come serviced enough to where they are in great condition. A leak isn’t considered great condition. I call them to see if they could fix the leak from their mechanic and they tell me the 30 day warranty is only on “big stuffs”. I shouldn’t have to be going through this in the first place because I was told it was in great working condition regardless of what their 30 day warranty says. They sold me a vehicle that was not in great condition and has a leak that’s going to cost $300+ And $200 on the belt. I’m not even mad I’m just pretty disappointed they couldn’t have my back after a 17k+ purchase. It’s a little sad. I expect this from a private sale on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace because it’s “as is” basis but not from an establishment like this. I wanted to do honest business here for years to come and give a used car place a chance. But that is very hard to do when an unethical practice is being used.

Bad just bad

The salesman I dealt with was judgemental. Wasn't even allowed to test drive anything. Will definitely be glad to take my 5k down deposit elsewhere

11 hours of driving, money wasted

Let me start off by saying Devin at Debruhl's knew I was going to look at their 2012 Toyota Sequoia yesterday, and that I was driving from out of state. I planned on getting a U-haul trailer after I purchased their Sequoia off of their lot and loading up my wife's Jeep and pulling it back home. I said that I'd leave TN around 5 am to make it there around 11am. When I asked about the condition of the vehicle while I was talking with Devin on the phone he said he would go outside and look at it. It was raining at the time, He replied with comments via text after our call like" Looks Jam up" aka looks good. "Nothing that would keep me from buying it." So I went to bed excited about this purchase. I left around 0445 to head towards the dealer, I texted him at 0657 to give him the courtesy to let him know I was on the road and a ETA, you know the right thing to do, so he's not waiting for no reason and to let him know I didn't stand him up. At 09:11 he sent me a photo of the Sequoia and scratches on the door that he "didn't see" in the rain yesterday and wanted to be " up and up" and "didn't think it would be a deal breaker". I said no worries I'll check it out when I get there. I was instantly irritated mainly because for one you have a customer that is bringing a cashiers check aka cash to buy a vehicle from your lot, no games no back and forth. You wait until 09:11 to let me know about these "scratches" that you missed yesterday. You don't have the the common courtesy to be honest with me right then and there about this vehicle. Fast Forward about a hour and a half, I get to the dealership and walk up to the Sequoia, Devin greets me and says I can look over the vehicle and he would get a temp tag so we could go on a test drive. I walk up right to the scratches that he sent me to inspect them, I was hoping for dog scratches, nope. Scratches through the paint and into the metal. I then inspect the rest of the Sequoia, there was a dent in the driver door, dent above the gas cap, chunks of material missing from the fender flairs, massive deep scratches across the hood onto the fenders, which he thought was a clear bra. Broken front lower grill, Interior had cover broken off of the center console outlet plug, paint missing on the passenger center console and it looked like someone tried to paint or blend in the rear driver seat. Now I couldn't help but extremely mad at this point because all of these other defects weren't mentioned, just the scratches on the door. Now I can only conclusion I can come up with is that Devin just mentioned one defect and that I was well over half way that I would just bring it home. I think it's pretty xxxxty of a dealer to operate like that. He did give me 20 bucks for gas, it got me half a tank, out of the two tanks of gas it took me to get there and get home, probably felt guilty as xxxx, I know I would. I caution ANYONE looking at this dealer from out of state. Total waste of 11 hrs and time and money away. Thanks for teaching me not to trust a dealer's word, at the end of the day that's all we got.
