Their prices are not reasonable. I bought a car. The leather seats were worn badly for the age and mileage of the car. I was told the seats could be fixed... to like new condition in lieu of any discount. It took them 2 tries, they still could not do it right. I was told there were no major issues. First of all they forgot to admit that there was a tear behind the passenger seat. That is what a leather guy is supposed to fix. The center armrest could have certainly used a clean and recondition, something that they also didn't admit. The seat that they did repair the "paint" or whatever is starting to flake and crack within weeks. I am not a big guy by any means. I weigh about 150 lbs. I take excellent care of my cars. The seat belt holder does not retract properly. There was a running water sound from the dash. The a/c blower motor is bad. I know a used car isn't perfect. I let go of the scratch in the leather seat, door ding, curbed wheels, and scratch in the bumper. I expect when something should be fixed, it should be fixed, no exceptions. They care more about saving money than having a satisfied customer. They are not easy to get a hold of either. I feel like they want to do the least amount of work for the most amount of pay. I do not recommend that you buy a car from them. I am certainly not ever again. Update: Jon helped me setup with an upholsterer in my area and he did allow me to have a rental while my car was repaired. It was a real hassle for me. I had to go back and forth a few times to get the color match and the perforation style. It was also a very long lead time. The OEM leather is no longer available, so I had to choose something close enough. The only way it would be better is if the entire interior was refinished. This is not a complaint against the upholsterer; I think he did the best job any one could do. Jon would not pay for any other repairs for any of the other preexisting conditions that were not disclosed at the time of sale. A job half job is a job not done at all. The bottom line for them is more important. For that I cannot change my rating. P.S. never buy a Merc out of warranty.
Lorie Kleeman my sales consultant was a great help and helped get the best deal possible on my used Mercedes that I purchased. They also gave me full value... for my old used car. I definitely recommend coming here if your looking for a new or used car.
I have no incentive to write a negative or positive review. I had a very positive experience at a car dealer (yeah, I know a car dealer) and want to share... it. This is extremely long winded, however I could have greatly expanded on things. My wife and I drove a 2004 Honda Pilot with high mileage. I say this fact as car dealerships seem to form a quick opinion of you based on current vehicle. We don't dress to impress, which seems to further judgement in stores and car dealerships. The search: We have been to a large majority of the Mercedes and BMW dealerships within 100 miles of our zip code. Virtually all of them seemed to feel we were tire kickers. In many cases, sales people would be out on the lot when we were there and ignore us. We found that dealerships close early on Sat and closed on Sun, thus we could look at cars without the brush-off. During these weekend trips we narrowed our list to the MB GLS550 and GLE550e. We timed it incorrectly on a Sat and ended-up arriving at MB of Lancaster while they were open. We walked through the showroom using a back door to avoid what we expected to be typical sales reps. We were not approached until on our way to the front exit. I was lagging behind but my wife was approached by a rep asking if he could help us. That's when we met Curt Brown. In our conv with Curt, he walked with us while we talked cars and his background. It felt like a 'real' conversation and that he actually took us seriously. We left the dealership in our old Pilot after talking to Curt and him providing a GLS brochure. Jump ahead to the next Fri and I emailed Curt to tell him we actually wanted to get together and talk specifics of our desired build. This was my first brand new vehicle, it was going to be exactly as I wanted. We got together that evening at the dealership where Curt arranged for a GLS550 to be ready for a test drive and discussion. We walked through what I wanted, we discussed whether some of the numerous options I had in mind were truly needed given MB engineering. Curt asked good questions and provided good feedback. Then came the final price conversation. Like most people, I had researched various pricing sites, forums and read dealership reviews. I had an idea of what I was expecting to pay for this heavily optioned car. In my email to Curt earlier in the day, I had stated I don't like the whole dickering and negotiating process. After we had discussed the general vehicle and options pricing, I of course asked, "OK, that's great, what's my price?" Curt got out his calc, worked all the numbers and turned it around to show me the price, it was lower than I had expected. This obviously won me on price, but there's more to it than the car price, all was clearly identified on the sale form and no ridiculous dealer fees to be found. With the build we wanted, it req ordering vs. buying off the lot. Curt gave me a realistic date to expect delivery, and actually beat it by a couple weeks. He has consistently responded to any and all emails immediately. I had some pretty specific requests regarding how the car was prepped and processed for delivery, which Curt followed to the letter. We were late for our pick-up appt. Curt was engaged with a customer at his desk, however he recognized us immediately and offered us the keys to our new vehicle as we had requested it remain locked while on the showroom floor. We hadn't been to the dealership in two months since ordering so I was impressed he remembered our faces. From top down at MB of Lancaster, everyone we have encountered has been down to earth normal people. There's not the typical pressure I expected nor the snootiness that we have experienced at every other MB and BMW dealership. Bottom line, I felt that I was treated as a person, as was my wife, and that we got an extremely fair price. Curt is always there for any questions that we may have, including after the delivery. A very attentive dealership with a true salon mentality.
I purchased a slightly used SLK and could not be happier with the way the people treated me during the purchase experience or the beautiful car I now own.... I have purchased many vehicles over the years and found this time to be truly the best. The honesty and professional conduct by the salesman and management made my special buy a true 'reward'. I have also found the service staff unbelievably friendly and helpful through my first Mercedes-Benz experience. It will not be my last from this dealership!! I understand their new facility will be ready soon. That is all I would change from this experience.
In my opinion, this is the most unethical, slimy, dishonest, and rudest run dealership, let alone one claimed "high quality customer service oriented"... Mercedes dealership. They list vehicles and then try to nickel and dime you and act as if they are doing you a favor by letting you buy a vehicle from them because others are waiting to buy it. They fail to live up to the deals on the terms they get you in the door under and yell at you. I wish I had recorded their behavior so I can send it to Mercedes Corporate because their franchise would certainly be on the line if Mercedes knew how these people really operate. Beware.
The sales team at Lancaster Mercedes was the best buying experience I have ever had!
