Done right ?

I went in for a engine light on the dash ? promptly my truck was taken in and the service was completed without a hitch

Not Recommended

Body Shop review: I just had a super bad experience with them. They did a great repair job on a previous truck in September 2020. The estimator was phenomenal and a great help throughout the process. Sadly, he doesn’t work there anymore. now, they did an estimate on my truck the first week of May. Said it would be about mid June before they could get to it. No problem. I was fine with that and told them I‘d have the work done. They got the money from my insurance company in only a matter of a few days. And then that’s where it all went downhill. it took them three weeks to even get the parts ordered. And they got agitated with me because I had an issue with that. We all know that sometimes parts do take a while to come in. I did not want them to wait until the last minute to get parts and then have my repair get pushed out even further beyond mid June. It was excuses, excuses, excuses. “They are shortstaffed. They only have one person working in parts for this particular part of the body shop.” blah, blah, blah. When I was discussing with the estimator, Joe Hussar, about the parts, he very blatantly said I was free to take my business elsewhere. I told him I didn’t want to do that because it already been three weeks since my estimate. I then called the manager, Alan. And he stuck up for Joe. Continuing to make excuses. but the conversation was left that I was still having my vehicle repaired there. A follow-up conversation was had with Joe this past week. He said that all of the parts had come in from Ford. But that because my bumpers were custom, and they were no longer available, I would have to pick out some different ones. No problem. I said I would start looking into it. fast forward just a couple days after that conversation. Alan then calls me back and proceeds to tell me that they are not going to do my repairs. he gives the excuse of it’s because my truck is custom and lifted and has a lot of different accessories, basically. And that his body shop guys don’t really do that kind of work. That they basically are just used to swapping stock parts. I call a huge pile of BS on that one. it’s not like my truck is some 25 year old beat up pick up truck, with cheap aftermarket parts slapped on by a non-professional. It is a 2019 Ford ranger. Every custom accessory was installed by the dealership before I even bought it. But, If that was truly the case, that they can’t work on trucks like this, why did Joe even do my estimate? Why didn’t he say they couldn’t do it the day I came in? Why did they take my insurance company’s money? ($8700) Why did they order the parts from Ford? Why did they hold me up for the last month thinking I was going to get my truck repaired? Now it’s going to take even longer before my vehicle is repaired and serviceable again. Buyer beware. Take your business elsewhere.

poor service

took my 2015 Terrain in for repair ,they ordered part on 12/8/2021 todays date is 2/18/2022 and part still not here.

Buying a car

Sales dept at Sunset Chevy Buick in Sarasota was great. My salesman "Cody" was by far the best salesman I have ever dealt with in the fifty years that I have been buying cars. These are trying times with all the delivery issues out there. Cody made it happen. Thanks for a great experience

Friendly efficient staff

We shopped for weeks before finally finding the vehicle that met all our wish list needs. We arrived and the paperwork was all completed, the staff was efficient and friendly and we were on our way. Very happy

Fast and easy!

I was able to get a quote and buy a car from Sunset in less than a day which was very convenient. What another GMC dealer couldn’t do earlier that day, this one was faster and easier to deal with. Jeff was great to work with and wasted no time and they all stayed an hour or so after closing to get us the new car we wanted.

Liars and poorly managed

First: Bought a 2017 Traverse here. Asked for 2 things, Bluetooth and Satellite radio. Took me a week to figure out the radio only allowed you to connect your phone via bluetooth for phone calls but not music. They told me the radio was nearly impossible to replace and offered me a few hundred dollars as compensation. The satellite radio cuts out every time you pass under the smallest branch, my other vehicles have never had this issue. GM products just seem to be inferior. Second: A few weeks after my purchase my bank debited the entire price of my trade in vehicle (14K) from my bank account as Sunset Chevrolet's payoff check for the vehicle had bounced. They wound up needing to cut me another check directly for the 14K after their bank issues were resolved. Bottom line, don't do business here. They lied up front about the radio and then put me in a very bad position by bouncing their payoff check.
