Unimpressed.

Unimpressed. In my original request for information I asked for information to prove the vehicle was as advertised before we went any further in the purchase process. I wanted to make sure everything is authentic before any discussions began. Yet, I received nothing I asked for, only a promise of a window sticker (not delivered or asked for), a request to set up an appointment to come in, and what vehicle will I be trading in. Additionally, the same car was listed at three different dealerships within this automotive group and as of this review is now at a fourth. However, no pictures changed, nor was any information updated. Also it seems any identifying information has been left out of the pictures, leaving you to guess what is real or not. This is a the sign of a scam/high pressure sales tactics that I want no part of. In this reviewers opinion, there are better options out there.

Bait and switch vibes

Cars.com listed a vehicle they had on their lot for a great price. Went to the website just to see what types of discounts/rebates/qualifiers you need to get to qualify for advertised price but all you see on their website is $MSRP [minus] “Don Franklin Discount” [equals] SALE PRICE. When inquiring about the sale price they say you have to qualify with rebates and whatnot. Why not show that there is a disclaimer. Rep on the website said there is a disclaimer on the website at the bottom of the page. Why are we playing hide and seek with disclaimers. Disclaimers are meant to be honestly disclosed. Why waste our time and theirs? Just causes these bad reviews without even buying a car. Would not buy fr this place

Salesman wanted to talk price before we had even looked T

Salesman wanted to talk price before we had even looked T the vehicle! The vehicle was filthy! We have purchased Lincoln’s from Don Franklin before, but this was indeed our worst experience!!

Out of state purchase over the internet.

Out of state purchase over the internet.. The sales manager at Don Franklin would not sign the contract in a timely manner for the financing of my automobile. I asked for a deposit return after 5 weeks of waiting for paper work. The general manager refused my request. Now I am out my deposit and still have no automobile for my business.. Down South we still do business the old fashioned way. Biggest tip I have ever given.. not to receive anything in return….

Consumer response

In good faith I sent a 1000.00 dollar deposit.to Don Franklin Dodge in Somerset Kentucky. After two actual salesmen, several internet sales personnel, the new cars sales manager, and finally the general manager, I never received any signed dated paperwork for the purchase of my new automobile.. During this process, I received a letter from their credit bureau stating they could not finance the automobile because it was a commercial vehicle. Upon further inspection, I found out that Don Franklin Dodge ran my credit multiple times which damaged my credit rating and my credit score.. Finally, I went through the chain of command and the General Manager for Don Franklin informed me that I would not be receiving my deposit back. During this conversation, I asked the manager to show me where I had signed any contract or where they signed any agreement. The manager became so argumentative that he threatened to sue me if I left a negative comment or rating on the website.. Mr Franklin, I was always taught an honest days work for an honest days wage.. Do you believe that? What has the world come to since Daniel Boone died..

Easy. Quick to deal with at fair price (market considering). They even delivered the vehicle to NC from KY.

Lies lies lies

Bait and switch. Called about a truck that was advertised on their website donfranklin.com. They told me it was only allowed for government purchase. And it was a mistake from cars.com. I said but I see this right now on ur web site. They said oh that’s not our website that’s our parent company. Our local dealership web site doesn’t list that and we can’t control what’s on our parent company site. I said aren’t u a donfranklin dealship. Yes. But that didn’t seem to matter. I think advertising laws don’t matter to them either. Someone should contact an attorney and sue them. I hope they try to rebut this review it will be a total joke. Don’t have a leg to stand on. Advertise something falsely and this is the reviews u get. There is a reason their ranking is 2 of 5.

SCAM. BAIT AND SWITCH

Like many other reviews have said, if you see a good deal for this dealership it's not legitimate. "Government price only" I asked why that couldn't be listed in the description. They said they didn't know. I'll just stick to buying cars from craigslist people with cash. At least their offers are honored.

Don’t waste your time.

Contacted the dealership about what appeared to be a great deal on a new Ram 1500. They got right back to me and let me now that truck was no longer available. When I asked why it was still listed they informed me that price was only for government entities. Complete waste of time and obvious bait and switch tactics.

What a joke!

Everyone, thanks for the honest reviews. They saved me lots of time. I called, rather than actually driving there. Glad I did, as the vehicle was for “government” purchase only. What a joke.
