Since purchasing the 2019 Ford EcoSport on May 31, 2023 Since purchasing the 2019 Ford EcoSport on May 31, 2023, for a financed amount of $18,447.34 with a down payment of $7,000, I've encountered nothing but a string of issues. Just thirteen days post-purchase, I found myself bringing the vehicle in for service due to persistent stuttering and slowing down while pressing the gas pedal. On one particularly harrowing occasion, while cruising at nearly 60 mph on the highway, I narrowly avoided rear-end collisions as the car inexplicably dropped in speed. CarMax, from where I purchased the vehicle, referred me to Ford under the Manufacturer Warranty. After several days, Ford returned the car, claiming they found no issues. However, the very next day, the same problem resurfaced. This frustrating cycle repeated itself multiple times, with CarMax shuttling the vehicle back and forth to Ford, each time with no satisfactory resolution. Eventually, after having to tow the car from my workplace to CarMax Orlando, Ford finally identified the need for transmission rebuilding. Despite enduring months of waiting, upon retrieving the vehicle, the check engine light promptly illuminated, and the car resumed its erratic behavior of bucking, stuttering, and slowing down while driving. Throughout this ordeal, I've been without the vehicle I purchased, diligently paying my note on time. Recently, a CarMax service agent suggested potential wiring issues and highlighted that the vehicle's battery was incorrect, despite it being the one installed at the time of purchase. This vehicle, touted as being in working order multiple times, has continuously malfunctioned, endangering myself and my family. Consequently, I'm formally requesting CarMax to repurchase this lemon vehicle. I expect CarMax to buy back the vehicle from my possession, providing a full refund, along with an apology for the peril caused by their negligence in selling a defective vehicle.

Zero communication skills
Unfortunately my experience echoes many others here. Called and was on hold for 10 minutes before talking to an actual human, and then on and off hold for 30 more minutes. At that point I found out I wasn't even speaking to someone at this locations staff. They forwarded me to that location and the phone rang and rang and eventual went to voicemail. I left a message that was never returned. I live far from this location and just wanted a bit more information about the vehicle before making the 3 hour drive. I knew I wanted to purchase as I had already driven this model/trim level and had been looking for this make model and color for months. Unfortunately, the complete lack of communication meant I missed out.

I would give more stars but, they never returned any of
I would give more stars but, they never returned any of my inquiries. I may have missed out on the car of my dreams. Thanks Carmax!! I have done business with Carmax in the past but not this particular Carmax. If they don’t return calls or inquiries. I’m afraid to do business with this particular CarMax.

First of they never anserr the phone.
First of they never anserr the phone. When they do after days of trying you get a homo erectus to answer and treat you like a carcass. Serbice desk and customer service are garbage. They are only nice when you walk in and a seller needs his commision, after that you are in a xxxx of problems trying to reach them for anything. Corporate and costumer care do nothing. No matter when or how you ask for help there is always an issue. Hard to not think they purposely do it to not honor your warranty, waste your time and let your warranty expire.

Raised car price $4,000 overnight
Last night, online the 2018 Fiat Lusso was $18,998. When I paid $99 to have it transferred to Orlando...an amazing $4,000 WAS ADDED TO THE PRICE!!! Now, it is showing the cost is $22,998. Do not deal with this lying and dishonest dealership. In addition to this blatant, bait and switch, and criminal raising of an absurd amount I have tried to have cars transferred three other times. ONCE TIME, were they competent enough to do it. The other two? Just as other reviewers have pointed out...it doesn't happen. CarMax used to be a great place to buy/sell cars. Obviously, with their new highway robbery tricks, it is NOT.

My daughter is in college in Orlando and had money in hand to purchase a car. She spoke with someone at a different Carmax to have a car transferred - that worked beautifully. She never heard from the Orlando Carmax. She called repeatedly and finally spoke to someone. Over the course of 3 weeks, she would reach out to them only and they told her it was being "quality inspected" which is a load of hooey since it came off a Carmax lot. She then spoke to a salesperson and requsted to come see it (again) and they said, oh it's on a test drive (!!!!). We tried again to schedule when we were in town visiting and the same sales person (Tyra) referred us to the finance department - which I can only assume means they sold it.. No one ever called us back, as promised, and she failed to respond to the direct question of if it sold. Horrible experience.

Carma is just another "Profits first" company.
Carmax sold me a Ford Focus RS with missing underbody parts, burnt oil and sparkplugs, and a failing clutch. Paperwork left in the car showed the car had been given out on multiple 24 hour test drives in which people with no intention of buying the car, abused the car to no end and possibly swapped parts on it as too. I am still waiting for my refund, meanwhile Carmax has already posted the car I returned broken back on their site hoping to scam the next buyer. I officially now consider Carmax as just another unethical company that only cares about profits while promoting a pretend "We put people first" narrative. I suggest going somewhere if buying a car, there are definitely better and more trustworthy dealers left out there.

Had an appointment and confirmation they were holding a car our Grandaughter was buying. Got to Orlando after a 5 hour drive from Miami to find out vehicle was sold. GD in tears and very disappointed and we did not even get a call to advise car no longer there. After buying several cars from CM in Davie …we are not going to car max anymore, but specially the Orlando location.

Absolutely awful. Go to another one.
Worst experience ever (other than the actual salesperson). They have screwed everything up, refuse to answer phones, haven't done correct title work, etc. JUST TERRIBLE ALL AROUND.
