Eckert Hyundai damaged my steering wheel, lost one of my

Eckert Hyundai damaged my steering wheel, lost one of my lock nuts, and PREFORMED SERVICE ON MY VEHICLE I DID NOT APPROVE (which was a tire not covered under my plan). I made an appointment informing them I would be having work done under the wheels and tire package they sold me. After I picked up my vehicle they tried to offer me new lock nuts for $240 and charge me for a tire I didn’t ask for. Disappointed in how they handled a bad situation. Only reconciliation offered was to have them undo the work on my vehicle for no charge and replace my lock nut. Spent 4 hours to have 2 tires replaced and then they want me to spend another 4 hours undoing their work and still have a damaged steering wheel. This will be my last visit. I bought my Elantra from them but will be purchasing my vehicles else where in the future.

Dealer response

Mr Duff, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. During your repair you informed your service advisor that you needed to leave to go to another appointment. We oblige this request with your understanding that we were still waiting for the approval of the tire replacement per your service contract. You stated you understood and provided us with your card information for any costs associated with the repair. Unfortunately, your service contract only approved one tire replacement leaving the second tire your financial responsibility. We did offer to provide the lock nut free of charge plus a compromise to your tire replacement which you declined. We value all of our customers and try to provide the best customer service experience. Unfortunately, we do not have any control over what service contracts approve or deny. Drive safe and we wish you a joyous holiday!

I just purchased my second santa fe from Echert hyundai.

I just purchased my second santa fe from Echert hyundai. My first was from a honest dealership. My salesman was very nice and helpful. I ask if he has a demo for sale. Yes he did. I ask if i would get all warranty. Answer yes. After driving the vehicle and talking further with salesman and manager I told them I would purchase it if I could get it for x dollars. Next morning I got a text tell me we had a deal. Went to pick up the vehicle. The finance person Charlie was arrogant and rude. I was told could not get the maintenance warranty . After being rude he said he would give it to me but it would come out of the salesman commission and he would probably be fired. I signed the papers and paid cash for the vehicle. My mistake I only looked at the bottom line. Today I was looking at the invoice . Charlie had charged me for the maintenance policy. Lesson learned be very aware of this dealership. They are not honest and are very rude . Exception , I had a very nice salesman.

Billy in the service department will lie to your face.

Billy in the service department will lie to your face. Brought our car in for a warranty issue that was supposed to be fixed in April of 2023! The same error code showed up in Dec. We dropped the vehicle there 12/3 and by 12/7 they had killed it. They said the engine seized up while they were taking it for a test drive. This was after they told me to come in, my vehicle was ready. Spoke to Billy over and over and he assured us he submitted the paperwork to Hyundai for an engine replacement. We found out he never did. He is such a liar who is sadly unconcerned about the customers. Stay away from this place. There are far too many dealerships in Texas who offer great service! And after reading some of the reviews what happened to us seems to be common. It’s so unfair and frustrating

Run far away from this place, they are liars

Worst and most dishonest place ever! Very dishonest and unprofessional place to deal with. Stay far far away from them. Jim L is an absolute joke of a service advisor, and his manager is just the same. Took my car in for a warranty issue, they said there was an issue that disqualified it from being under warranty, asked to see the issue they absolutely refused to provide any details or insight to it. Took my car to 3 other places locally and no one saw the issue they saw, even told me I was lucky they did not intentionally create said issue. Go anywhere else but here.

Sorry I Wasted My Time Here

5/7/2023 I have been looking for a white 2023 Tucson SEL for months now; but dealerships were always sold out by the time I arrived. I saw online that Eckert had one in stock so we went to check it out. We drove the car which had about 5 miles on it and loved it. When it came time to talk numbers, the manager would not budge on the sticker price, We left disappointed but hopeful they would come back with a least a small amount off the sticker price. We then saw that Van Hyundai in Carrollton had the same car with a different color interior in stock. Van came with a price of about $1,000 off the sticker price and the window tint included at no charge. We called Eckert to see if they could match the price, being that we liked the interior color of the car at Eckert better. The salesman, Alex, then informed us that it was his understanding that Van would tag on a lot of extra charges at signing, and that Eckert would not come down from the sticker price quoted. NO extra charges were tacked on at Van by the way. I am now a proud owner of a Tucson from Van Hyundai in Carrollton.

I suggest that you do NOT put a deposit down on any

I suggest that you do NOT put a deposit down on any vehicle. You will definitely NOT receive it back!! I placed a required deposit of $1,000 to hold a Palisade in transit, but found a better deal somewhere else before the vehicle even arrived. Please know the time frame from the time I put the deposit down to the time I contacted them to let them know I found something else was less than one week (two of those days they were closed for Christmas). One of the owners, Mark Eckert, will NOT respond to emails. He offered a “store credit” that will be valid for one year. FYI I did not purchase a Hyundai and should not need $1,000 worth of parts on a brand new Toyota. At one point someone said, “don’t waste your time on her” in the background while on the phone. Since I did not have a transactional purchase with them, they should return my deposit. This is not the right way to do business.

Incompetent and dishonest to say the least - they will

Incompetent and dishonest to say the least - they will offer to bribe you do take your truthful reviews down and not follow through. They also went through my wife’s dash cam and removed all evidence video of the situation, as well as the days prior - creepy and sketchy. It would be different if they unplugged the camera while they worked on the car but wow.

STAY AWAY!

STAY AWAY! This place is extremely dishonest. I took my car in when Hyundai issued a recall/service campaign, and the check engine light has been on ever since they touched it. In addition to the recall, I have taken it to them two additional times to get them to fix what they damaged when they were performing the service campaign. The last visit they wanted me to pay for some phony repair that they claim is a "coincidence", all to fix their mistake. The service manager Dylan Hulme refuses to make it right for the customer. I would give this place MINUS 5 stars if I could.

Matt Garretson was a dream of a car sales guy - so knowledgeable, personable, and non-pushy. He didn’t try to upsale, smooth talk or talk down other cars or dealers. Go to Eckert, ask for Matt and have a pleasant car buying experience!
