Great Experience

Tyler helped us with our purchase of a 2018 Highlander. He helped us to get within a price that we needed to be in, and made the whole process smooth. He was very helpful over the phone before we made the 2 hour drive there. It was worth it, and we would definitely come back. Tim in finance was also great and very nice to work with!

Withheld Credit Score Horrible Experience

Carl Cannon Chevrolet withheld one of my credit scores from me which was my best one of 784 and never explained my other 2 scores or who they were from. This affected me getting a better deal on my truck.Contacted the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU 3weeks ago and they still don't want to resolve this matter and get me a better interest rate.ALL OF THIS INFORMATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO ME IN THE BEGINNING NOT AT THE END WHEN THE DEAL WAS DONE AND PAYMENTS CALCULATED.CARL CANNON CHEVROLET PUT ME IN A VERY STRESSFUL SITUATION....

HORRIBLE FINANCING PROCESS!

THE FINANCE GUYS AT CARL CANNON CHEVROLET WITHHELD VALUABLE INFORMATION FROM ME WHICH WAS MY CREDIT SCORE OF 784.THEY PRESENTED ME WITH A 627 AND 650 ON A LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER AND NEVER EXPLAINED THOSE TWO SCORES OR WHO THEY WERE FROM.THEY HAD ME BELIEVING ALL THAT I HAD WAS THOSE TWO LOW SCORES TO NEGOTIATE WITH.DID NOT FIND OUT ABOUT MY 784 CREDIT SCORE UNTILL I WAS ABOUT TO SIGN MY PAPERWORK.THEY PUT ME IN A BAD AND PRESSURE SITUATION .I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IN THE BEGINNING SO THAT I COULD NEGOTIATE THE BEST DEAL POSSIBLE AS A CONSUMER LOOKING TO BUY.THEY TOOK IT ALL AWAY FROM ME AND NOW AFTER A MONTH THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP ME WITH A BETTER INTEREST RATE.IF YOU GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP BE CAREFUL AND ASK QUESTIONS.I ASKED ABOUT MY CREDIT SCORES,THEY GAVE ME 2 OF THEM AND DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT MY 3RD AND BEST UNTILL THE END WHICH WAS SIGNING PAPERS.

Dealer response

Thanks for your feedback. We have responded to this review on BBB, Facebook and even the AG's office over the past few weeks. This customer received the very best offer we received from a lender based on their very best credit score which was disclosed to them BEFORE they purchased. (as they state in their review.) I have no idea how that is deemed "pressure" but it clearly wasn't. The customer left as happy as could be after reconsidering before signing their paperwork. All this anxiety didn't arise until days later and they have left a negative review each week since hoping we can magically get them a lower rate than the low single digit rate we got them. We can't. Thats now how it works, we aren't the lender unfortunately. We go above and beyond to make our customer happy and have for 54 years and have the reputation to back that up thankfully.

Awesome Experience

We drove from Birmingham to Jasper this morning, purchased a vehicle and was back home in 3 hours. These people are so very helpful, and made the vehicle purchase process so easy. Thank you for the great service. If you need a vehicle, these guys will take care of you!

Good dealership

People are friendly and answer any questions I have and it is close to my home town so I do not have to go far to be serviced.

poor " potential customer" service

There was a problem with a car I was interested in purchasing. I had found the same problem with another car at a different dealership. That dealership said it as a factory problem and would be replaced. This dealership said it would "NOT " be fixed and offered no other comment. I was driving about 2 hours to go to Carl Cannon . I told them I would " NOT " be purchasing a car from them and returned to the other dealer and purchased the other vehicle. They do not need to worry about me ever becoming a customer. The automobile was a 2015 Cadillac XTS.

Nope.

Receive dozens of spam mails a week from this dealer, it bespeaks of a level of desperation that I find unsettling. We have called and written in to cancel this unwanted correspondence ... and were ignored in favor of a 'hard sell' sales pitch. Nope. This, -this- is what people talk about when they say 'used car salesman,' it's not a compliment guys.

Dealer response

John Jacob Jingleheimer, Thank you for this glistening review. Our sincere apologies for the level of email that you say you are getting. To date though, I am unable to locate any customers by the name John Jacob Jingleheimer in our database period. Perhaps we should start by you calling the dealership and asking anyone in the business development center to remove you from database delivery. It seems to work for most customers that call us with a real name and are sincere about their request. We will be happy to accommodate you.

Dealer response

Dissatisfied Customer, Sorry, That was the anonymous name of the sales associate you spoke with. In any event, I am not aware of any request that was made to this dealership in the last 4 years that was not honored in regard to contact and spam. Like we explained in the earlier response, we will be glad to accommodate any legitimate request to stop contact from Carl Cannon. Thank you for the review.

Poor customer service, incompetent staff

If you have an old jalopy pickup truck, this may be the place for you but if you have a vehicle that you prefer to have proper closing doors, properly aligned body panels, and a windshield repaired, I highly advise taking your vehicle anywhere but to Carl Cannon Chevrolet. Not only was the service and quality of the jobs very poor, I was promised return telephone calls from the Body Shop manager "Randy" who is undoubtedly out of the shop every time I call. I also personally spoke to the Service Manager, Barry, who informed me (verbatim) "Do not buy tires until you hear from me." and I never heard from him and he said this nearly four months ago. The tires were showing cords in June, it is nearly October and still no "hearing back from him". The cords showing was due to improper alignment at Carl Cannon in February which is when they promised me the alignment specs but could not produce them; also could not produce the February specs in June when I returned. I am an ASE certified technician and a mechanical engineer by trade, just to let you know that I know just a few things about automobiles. If you have a chip in your windshield, I'd highly advise anywhere else (or better yet, use the kit from the auto store to repair because I can PROMISE that you could do better work) and when the chip they supposedly repaired (obviously not) has a crack that propagates from the improperly repaired chip, they refuse to replace the windshield. If you don't like extremely large gaps on your body panels (I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I could stick my hand in the gap, all four fingers), go anywhere else. Not only will the body shop tell you that you're nit-picky, they will have you doing the body work with them. I stood there sweating in my work clothes (business casual) helping these incompetent body techs align body panels correctly and I'm not a body tech by trade. Even if they tell you they are qualified to perform the work, trust me when I tell you they are not. Have follow up questions for the service manager or body shop manager?, good luck on receiving return calls. The only calls you will likely hear from them are from Barbara the customer service manager (who also promises that the GM will call you) wanting to purchase your vehicle and sell you a new one. I guess you'll also receive calls back from service IF, and only if, there is money to be made by performing recall work. This was the worst dealership experience I've ever had and would highly recommend to anyone reading this that unless you have an old pickup truck or a well-used riding lawnmower that you have no concerns about gaps in the body work, go anywhere else. Also, I should mention that I really wish the questions about recommending to a friend or purchasing from this dealer had a third option "xxxx No" as opposed to the only two options of yes or no.
